Heavy and Medium Armor Are Weak.

Cloth Armor is far more powerful. I tank in it. I dps in it. I heal in it. There currently is absolutely no use for heavy and medium armor. This should be fixed.

pretty simple, add forced caps onto items and to benefit from each type force 5/7 pieces.

Keep in mind there is also the other benefits from each armor skill tree to be taken into consideration.

This model here could be used.

Resistances having to wear 5/7 how soft caps would or could look like:
    Heavy - 1000
    Medium - 700
    Light - 400

The Armor difference isnt great enough. Heavy armor should see a huge reduction in Physical damage taken. There isn't any ATM. I have tested it.

    +1

Light armour 100% dodge 50% block 0% armour
Medium armour 50% dodge 100% block 50% armour
Heavy armour 0% dodge 0% block 100% armour

Those dress wearers better practice that double tap and duel wield ;)
The medium armour wearers better practice that right click and 1hand.
The heavy armour wearers better do shedload of 2h damage before they die...If they can hit the target.

    :)

This right here. Armor in general is so irrelevant right now. Heavy should aslgo give 50% to spell resist medium 25% with spell resist caps increased by 50%

Actually my group has tested this multiple times. No idea how it works or the numbers but when my tank wears full medium armor he takes little to no damage, and light armor he takes quite a bit more. Sadly the only problem i see between armors and damage is spell resistance. I get hit 10x harder with my spell resistance capped with only 800 armor from spells and would still prefer melee targets because lets face it, spell resistance doesn't work

Honestly, only a few things need to change for Medium/Heavy to be useful.

First, the armor cap needs to get raised... What is the current hard cap, 50% DR? Lets bump that up to 65%. Now add a little more armor to heavy armor pieces.

Secondly, skills which boost armor need to be nerfed. It is ridiculous that a sorcerer in light armor can have more armor than a heavy armor user. These skills need to be balanced in some way, like if they want that much armor, they need to lose X% of spellpower or magicka regen. Skills that increase armor should only increase 800 max. Either that or change some of them to be flat damage reduction so Heavy armor benefits from them more.

Thirdly, as for medium armor, its not really that bad right now, the problem is stamina skills just suck. Once they tweak weapon skills to be on par with class/staff skills, then medium armor will be fine.

Medium/heavy passives could use a little bump too, especially heavy.
