Toilets

DuelWieldingCheesyPoofs
We have stone building's, beautiful architecture, underground sewers, yet no toilets of bathrooms?

not sure why this troubles me enough to post about it, but i would like to know why this era of people did not have bathrooms, i mean we must stink...no sinks, showers, baths, peeeeweee

Now we just need a poll about it.

I briefly considered posting one in response to this comment, but then I'd be accused of trolling again. Can't have that, now can we?

If we wanted to be realistic there should be sewage in the street, since chamber pots were generally just dumped out the window. With no universal medical care there should be rampant disease, which would lead to lots of disabled and sick homeless people panhandling on the street.

which is exactly what the nords wanted for us dark elves in skyrim. it's uncalled for to even think we dunmer have to use restrooms or baths as we are kept alive purely on magicka and inteligence.
there are no restrooms for us dark elf dunmer but the rest of tamriel citizens certanly need them.

best in slot: is the armor, weapon, clothing look, pet, or no pet, jewelry, race, class, skill choices, amount of DPS, and skin color best fit to you and the way you wish to play and makes you feel good and performs what YOU think it should be.

worst in slot: what you read in zone chat, and forum comment, and forum thread, and you tube video, and live streamer advice, and class rep advice, and guild chat advice, and whisper told you to wear, and use for skill, and dress like, and use for weapon and armor.

I think so, there was like an outhouse. One. For all of Skyrim.

Actually, I just looked it up and it was a mod. So apparently OP isn't the only one troubled by this in TES games.

I swear these people would halt development on the game so they could get stupid stuff that doesn't matter like children, toilets, and killable cats....

I think about how many times I was so relieved to see toilets in games like fallout or metro...wait no...didn't care...didn't add to the game to know that a non-life-like NPC could if he wanted to, out of sight, take a dump.

Just pretend everyone goes and runs off into the forest to do their stuff...

See all those buckets laying around in the game? Yeah those. Those are honey buckets. That's what the world uses for the bathroom. Just like in the old days before people had indoor plumbing.

Sorry - I have to agree with the OP. When he was younger (12 or 13) my son was fascinated by toilets. It has stuck in my head since that games build realistic (for the setting) worlds and then leave out the most basic of human needs.

Don't go pulling at threads like these. You might also wonder where all those people in cities live, considering there's only about three to five residences in each one.

I keep a pet vampire. That keeps the body fluids down to a minimum.

For everything else I use digesti-gems. Sell them cheap to moon sugar farmers as fertilizer. Ork dung rules.

This bit of detail is left out in many mmo's. But there may be a mini portal in the chair in our 'sitchair' emote, and it drops in Mehrune's lava domain for incineration. =)
Thinking back in SWTOR, there were no bathrooms on board those ships, not to poop, and not to shower... it does not stink its a natural musky smell.

We use magic to get around all those problems.

Seriously though, until very recently in our world baths were tins that hung on the wall, and toilets were hole in the ground. It only changed en mass in Europe after world war 2. Only the very rich had special Bathrooms and porcelain toilets for quite a long portion of history. And during the middle ages virtually nobody had them.
