Is the recent buff to Heavy Armor worth using it in Trials and end game content?

With the recent buffs to Heavy Armor, including the CC Break reduction in Juggarnaut and the Magicka+Stamina recovery per hit from Constitution, is using Heavy Armor viable for end game content and Trials yet?

Yes, the new CC Break Reduction and Magicka+Stamina recovery per hit is worth using Heavy Armor for end game content now!

    if you are tanking, yes.
    Otherwise, no.

Though to be fair I was so tempted to click option 3. Hahaha, well played sir.

It actually is, some ppl just don't understand how to use H Armor, so they don't use it, but you can play the game anyway you want.

Well when I run trials and vet dungeons, I see more tanks using Skirts than Heavy Armor, and I get yelled at for tanking with Heavy Armor when I should be using a Skirt!
So yeah, this game is still unofficially Elder Skirts Online imo...

The CC break was to help get people to use Heavy armor more in PvP. The stam and magicka regen on hit is garbage because it has a CD of 4 seconds.

I like being the underdog even if it means being on the short end of the stick. Which is why my main is a Templar who goes Sword & Board, LA, melee range caster. :P I'm a hot mess.

Well you can't be the underdog if you're not on the short end of the stick..

I am a tank with 3349 armor without buff. (4072 with razor)
    hp 3500 without food

I feel like i am badass when tanking the axes in AA trial. but when i do AA as a dps, one glass cannon sorc with heavy armor but no point in hp with 2000+ armor can tank like me. i feel like im not important anymore while glass cannon sorc can tank like me just switch to heavy and one/shield

The CD is only 4 seconds at rank 1. At rank 2, it's just 2 seconds.

Okay...the Stam and Magicka when being is is 2 secs, not 4 secs, not sure how that guys was misinformed. It stacks off of Health, more health, the more stam and magicka you get back.

It's easy to get to Armor Hard cap, and Spell Resist Soft cap, and when that happens, you don't need Razor armor, if you have more then 3100 Armor, STOP using Razor armor, does nothing for you but wastes Magicka!

Best thing is to grab Ring of Preservation and then you're both Armor and spell resist hard capped. Use abilities for your group members, support, make the fight easier.

Use impenetrable, it has been confirmed that VR mobs/bosses can and do crit.

Unassailable is probably one of the best tanking sets out there, get it, use it!

7% Extra Healing back, stacks with Unassailable.

And what make me say the H Armor is good, I don't know who else has beaten AA Hardmode, but my guild has, last night, I'm the main tank, H Armor!

The armor cap is 3150. Replace those +Armor jewelry enchantments with something more useful, or just stop using Spiked Armor.

Ring of Preservation is a waste of Stamina on a tank. Let a magicka user put it down.

Do you have a source on the "veteran mobs can crit" claim? I run FTC and CLS and I've never seen it happen.

Unassailable isn't bad, but armor is easily capped making it a waste. Hist Bark is better.

The original post is here tamrielfoundry.com/topic/impenetrable/

And half way down the first page, you will see this.

    983669_879888712026984_5160221566741924611_n.jpg

Take it as you see it.

And yes, Hist Bark is now amazing, add that with Unassailable, you'll be getting alot more back when you're blocking, and blocking is 90% of tanking

And Ring of Preservation is not a waste, again, with all this new H Armor, I barely break 80% Stam, so I have more I can play around with, and I only might have roughly 1600 stam

    Block for loot!

Is it worth using? Sure but light is probably still better. Since the patch I use a 5 piece heavy set and the 5 piece Warlock set (of which 3 pieces are jewelry) for magika and it seems to be working pretty well in PvP.

GMs are sadly one of the least reliable sources of information in MMOs. I wouldn't trust this source. Unless the crit chance is 0.0000000000001%.

Since I'm already essentially Spell/Armor capped, and since I am still positive that NPCs don't crit, and since Healthy is a net loss of stats on jewelry, I passed on Unassailable.

I suppose with the higher stamina regen caps that a tank could keep CoP going. It's very restrictive, however. It's still more optimal for a healer to place it.

In normal modes for Trials, yeah, but in Hardmodes, it's different, there is so much going on, I believe healers just need to focus on healing, as the tank, I'm able to give out what is needed, having the stats I have, my bars are free for support

Is there any attack or mechanic that NPC's do that reduce armor values? Cause if so, bypassing the soft armor cap (or more importantly, the hard armor cap) would actually be a benefit, as you could theoretically maintain a maxed armor rating despite NPC effects.

To the tank, though: what class and race are you? It would seem that Nords now have a superior effect for tanking.

He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.
