Templar Healer Questions

I tend to pvp more than I pve. I have watched a lot of videos about Templar healing and read a few guides about it but I am wondering if my approach is completely wrong since my approach is way different. My current build is as follows: Build
I use a Destruction Staff with my Templar heals since they are class skills for my first weapon and a Restoration Staff for the second so I can use the associated skills. I stay in my circles as much as possible so I don't run out of magika as fast. I don't use damaging spells so I do not get caught unable to heal because I was attacking.

Is there a different direction I should go? Can you explain why I should go that way or why I shouldn't go the way I am? Thanks for your help.

For starters, you don't need to stand inside your Channelled Focus to get its Magicka restoration (It's also twice as strong as its tooltip suggests). I find Healing Ritual isn't that useful in PvP due to its cast time and range, Grand Healing is almost always better/safer. Rushed Ceremony is almost always better than Steadfast Ward.

Personally I use Healing Springs, Rapid Regeneration, Honour the Dead (because I also like to run solo), Extended Ritual and Volcanic Rune (fun skill and decent support). My other weapon set is offensive (two bars for healing seems excessive to me but to each their own).

You should definitely mix in some offensive and defensive skills.

Blazing spear is a great ability that lets you do some decent damage from behind the lines and having immovable on one of your bars is an even better idea.
And since you are a healer, it is fairly vital that you have at least one cc ability to push any extra meat away from you, binding javelin, volcanic rune or fiery reach should do the trick.

And judging by the rest of your skills, you should drop that destro staff in favour of another resto staff for the far superior passives.

I also think so many heals is excessive. Most of the time I use just two, Honor the Dead (for people I like, dying fast) and Extended Ritual (for people I do not care about). Less often Lingering Ritual or ulti.

Note that sometimes CCing or outright killing mob/player may be more efficient than leaving him dishing out damage and heal it afterwards.

imo use one bar with a resto staff and have this be your primary healing bar. Use your other bar with a resto staff and use your good ranged class abilities for some decent damage. My healing bar is normally Purifying Ritual, Healing Springs, Rapid Regen and breath of life. Provides good aoe and ranged healing.
