I don't get it. Do you mean you want light armor that looks more like cloth? It never struck me as not looking like that. Or do you mean you want something like NPC clothing / civilian clothes?

I would assume he means something casual to wear. So yeah civilian clothes, so you don't look like you're about to go off and mess some [snip] up all the time but still look interesting. I kinda like the idea.

I think he means like costumes you have but more customizable, maybe for rp

I think the OP is asking for something that has been in TES games and certainly was added using mods. There was a certain amount of craftable clothing. In skyrim, as an example, mods allowed for crafting of all of the various clothes that you would see being worn by NPC. Basically all of the texture and skinning is already available in the client, there just needs to be a player usable item mapped and some form of crafting station modification to allow for the clothing. I think the biggest issue would be the item mapping...ZOS would have to add a zllion new player usable/owenable items. The fact that the visual components are already part of the client (sans dyable components of the clothing)

You do realize that you can craft Pants in Light Armor? You don't have to wear a dress.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    THIS!

I hate how robe tops cover up pants. But I do like how they added the jerkin or whatever it's called so you have an option for something other than robes for light armor.

    I want skirts...
I am disappointed there is a lack of kilts and skirtage...
guards wear them in Morrowind and Skyrim...
Only in Oblivion do they not.

Get rid of trousers please, I want to be free in the wind  lol

    -marcusstratus' wife speaking-

I've seen a number of nice dresses and other outfits on NPCs that I wish my character could wear - even if they weren't giving me any protection, but just for around town, screenshots and such.

Also now that we have Jerkins (for which I am very grateful!) I'd reeeeeally like to see Skirts - that is separate robe bottoms. (I know they would have to fill the breeches slot, but since you can't see any of the breeches underneath as it is that's fine).

Not only would it be interesting to mix robe-skirts with different Jerkins, but I would also really like to have my Battlemage in a Heavy cuirass and a robe-skirt so it would look like she had it on over her robe - wearing breeches and a cuirass just doesn't have the right effect, and wearing greaves under a robe just looks like plain cloth. Gauntlets and Pauldrons with a Robe can add a little of the shiny-metalic-knight look, but... not quite as ideal as having separate robe-skirts.

Yes, I am speaking of "civilian" clothing. I want everything from bar maid clothes to peasant clothes to stunning Noble ensembles. And...I never thought I'd SAY this regarding an MMO... but I want some scanty and scandalous clothing! LOL Bikini chainmaille ARMOR is completely ridiculous and I am SO glad Zenimax has not succumbed to that ubiquitous MMO model BUT for actual CLOTHING I think it's totally called for, for some characters. AND I want "civilian clothing" to be cultural in design. I want to be able to tell where the clothing came from!

Bar maid yes, French maid no. Not that I have any problems with wearing such in my single player games, there's a few chests best left undiscovered in mmos.

I do see the need of special clothing, just look at DAT Abnur Tharn...hes got so much 'swag' thanks to that Imperial Regalia he has. But I've heard that they are adding new Racial Motifs in the future, now, lets remember than many of the available Racial Motifs are not actually exclusives for their respecting races, so I can see the possibility of this.
