Traits gone

I was crafting 4 pieces of the Lamae set. I only had enough ore to make 3 so I left to get more ore and when I returned I had lost one of my traits on each piece and they were no longer Lamae.
I don't have 5 traits on anything any more and I used to have 5 traits on 4 things.
What happened to them??

Sounds like direct contact with ZOS is in order. Try /bug report or CS contact sheet found on one of the tabs of the bug report window.

You might be looking at the wrong armor. Or maybe you crafted on the non-set tab without traits enabeled?

The difference between set and no set and trait and no trait is as big as the difference between one handed hammer and heavy armor pants.
I know this because we addon programmers looked into the system and figuring out the trait or set automatically is near impossible without having a database for every single item template in the game.
The chances of the game just forgetting the set/trait as as big as it forgetting you had the items in the first place.

As previously mentioned, you probably used the lamae crafting station to craft regular items (not set items).

Normal blacksmithing station has two icons on the UI - weapons and armor.
Set crafting stations have four icons - set armor, normal armor, set weapons, normal weapons. If you selected the wrong icon you might have crafted a non-set item by mistake.

Also the set ones vanish temporarily after giving a crafting order (untill the animation/sound has played).
This got me once or twice when trying to craft a set and switching from weapon to heavy armor selection.

Between the 9 traits (inlcuding no trait) you can craft, and the 35 base types (every armor and weapon including the extra light chest) there is a total of 315 distinct items you can craft just at each set location (630 if you include the normal tab too but that one is duplciated between all crafting stations).
The chance of it scewing up the numbers and hitting exactly the number of the non-traited, non-set version is approximately 1:100,000 (1: every item ID in the game). Times the chance of it screwing up the numbers in the first place.

Thankyou for your answers but I don't think I was clear enough as to what happened.
I have been crafting some of the lamae armour for my blacksmith but only 3 pieces as that was all that had the 5 traits needed.
The 4th piece with 5 traits had finished so I crafted 3 pieces for another of my toons but ran out of ore to craft the 4th piece.
When I logged back in, the pieces that I had crafted were just ordinary and I didn't have any pieces at all that I could craft in the Lamae set.
None of my armours had more than 4 traits, and I definitely had 4 pieces that I could craft in Lamae.
One trait had disappeared off each of 4 pieces and I was unable to craft any Lamae at all.
I had 2 more pieces of armour that I was learning traits on so now I do have a piece with 5 traits.
I'm wondering if I had some sort of roll back.
I hope this isn't too confusing, as I think ive confused myself when I read it back, but that's what happened.

hmm did you look if you where still researching some of the traits you had before? If that is the case it looks like a rollback, very annoying those are.

I noticed this today. I have 8 trait daggers, but infused is still locked

I know that some addons (AI Reserach Grid) does not properly realise a trait has been unlocked if the timer runs out while you are logged out. About the only way to get it to realise you can craft it is via starting another one or relogging.

However the stock UI does fully recognise the traits for me. There has never been any issue in that regard.

I'm thinking its a rollback as my bf has had a few rollbacks on his toon.
I'm guessing that nothing can be done so I wont report it any further. I will just keep going and hope it doesnt happen again.
