Pet Shop / The Pound and Pets

Intro:
I've been giving it some thought and I think there can be a few things that can be added to pets.

Pet Shop:
I think there should be pet shops in this game. For the most part the interface would be like at any other shop, but there would be these factors:
Buy- From here a character can buy a range of lvl 1 pets. Mud Crab could be the cheapest at 1000 gold up to expensive pets such as a Saber Cat or Bear at 20000 gold. In this section a character chooses the type of pet, the pets color and finally name. Once the factors are chosen, and the pet is purchased, they are set for the pet's life.
Buy Pet Food-Once a character has a pet pet food can be purchased for 100 gold.
Much like horses, pets can be fed once every 20 hours.
The Pound:(section of Pet Shop)
Each character can have only one pet at a time. Thus if a character would like to have a new pet, or they just want to get rid of their pet, the pet can be given to the pound.
Sell-In this section pets can be put up for adoption. The price a character gets back is very small. (Much like the price you get when you sell a horse to the stables)
Buy- Here a character can buy a pet that has been abandoned. The price of the pet would depend on the pet type and the pets lvl. This could be a great option for some players, for they can purchase a high lvl pet. However the pets color and name cannot be changed because, it was set buy the previous owner. Just like in real life, pets in the pound are on borrowed time. A pet not adopted in 4 days game time is destroyed.

Pets:
Pets work very much like how they do for the game now. They follow your character around. However they also defend your character. The damage they do depends on the pets type and lvl. However they are rarely a game changer in combat. (Even at max lvl and most expensive pet) They help as much in combat as much as any NPC would.
Pets lvl just like horses do. You can feed them once every 20 hours. With each feeding the pet goes up one lvl. As far as pets and combat goes, when a pets HP reaches zero it lies down defeated for a few mins. When it is recovered it will return to combat. Just like an npc.

So, basically pets would still be as useless and annoying as they are now. Thanks, but no.

This is The Elder Scrolls Online, not The Littlest Pet Shop, no matter how bad many of you want it to be.

IMO, the only "pets" the game should have are useful things like the summoners daedra summons... and those should (and do) take up skill slots. (though I still argue requiring them on both bars is stupid.)

I find the whole vanity pet thing silly and a little obnoxious. Stuff like that should only exist in your home, if/when they add them.
