Guildmaster usurp facility

In my previous MMO if the guildmaster hadn't been on for a certain time the position could be usurped so as to ensure that the guild had an active leader. This would be particularly useful for ESO as well.

One of my best and active trading guilds, Daggerfall Trading Guild has a problem. Its one of the original and best trading guilds but the leader and sprinkling of officers haven't been on for a month. There are still plenty of members and recruits trading but its a ticking timebomb.

Anyone out there can contact the leader of Daggerfall Traders Guild (EU) by email?
At least the spelling is difficult for you.

The successor can click the Usurp button in the Kinship panel to become leader. If the successor does not usurp leadership within 10 days, all officers of the kinship receive a mail informing them that any officer can usurp leadership. If no officer usurps leadership within 20 days, all members of the kinship receive a mail informing them that any member can usurp leadership. If a kinship goes 65 days without a new leader, the kinship will automatically disband.."

Put in a ticket to customer support and they will email your guildleader on your behalf.
We did that and our guildleader returned and created a tabard for us.

Hmm, that's a pretty good system. I haven't had any issues with MIA guildmasters myself, but I think having a similar system in place in ESO would be a good idea. So does the guildmaster set who the successor is, or does it default to the longest-serving officer?

In LOTRO it was set by the guild leader. It would be easy to do in ESO, just have a check box for it and assign it to one of the ranks. I think it would be a good idea to include.

This is pretty much the way it works in DDO. (Well, they're from the same devs, so it's not surprising.)

I think that some form of the "usurp" feature is very necessary. We shouldn't have to go through the extra effort of contacting customer service and waiting for them to contact the missing GL, who may or may not respond. Why should it be so complicated and time consuming? Why should the guild members suffer in the meantime?

What if I, through no fault of my own, am unable to log in for an extended period? My guild is left high and dry and I can't do a thing about it. That would be a nightmare.

This really is something that should have been implemented at launch. It's basic stuff. I don't even know how you plan a guild system without putting in such a procedure. Do they think that no GL will ever leave or lose their internet access or anything? That's not a very realistic view IMO.

Would love to see an usurp function. I adore my guild. I have played many games over the past 10 years with them however, they have abandoned ESO. I have deposited a great many items in our many guilds. It would be nice to retrieve them.

I am in contact {mail, guild site, phone} with our leader but he has not yet transferred leadership or rights.

Just want to get my stuff before it poofs!
