whats a reasonable price for purple v5 recipe, food and drink?

There are many people now making money off buying then selling purple recipes. I know its a unregulated market and people can do what they want, but still, a reference price seems in order?

The drink recipe is useless for now, but it will be useful down the road when they allows drink to work alongside with food. So I think 30k seems a reasonable price for the v5 purple drink recipes.

For food, obviously honey brittle is better than the other two, so maybe 50k for honey pudding and sweetroll, and 70k for honey brittle?

What you are think?

Honestly, with the amount of recipes out there due to the drop rate change and just because anyone can get them without even any amount of work, food is more like 10k and drink around 5k. But this is my opinion and only after sitting on different zones (fishing) and watching so many people spamming them for over 100k....which are not worth that anymore.

well, it is purple, but it does drop more than purple motif.

Some people prefer the food, some people prefer the drink. Personally, because the individual stat boost for each stat is lower in a purple recipe than in the equivalent blue, I tend to use blue H/S on my main and H/M on my alt instead of trying to buy the purple equivalents, and that strategy has served me well so far.
Now that the guild stores are open and the actual guilds who bid for traders this week will be able to get vendors, I think we'll see a trend of recipe prices going down over time.
And keep in mind that ZOS said they are thinking of overhauling the provisioning system, so when that comes out, it could be that all recipes will become useless.

doubt it, revamp can means a lot of things, such as allowing drink and food to work at the same time, but to erase all the work done by players who leveled provisioning? thats just...... lets say, unlikely.

I would not buy any of the purple recipes. The drop rate has been buffed big time and provisioning is going to change in the near future so you have no idea what you'll actually have long term.

50K? Crazy! I don't care how rare they are, they just don't have that much utility. How much better ar they then a Blue L50 recipe (which you can get for 200g)? Let's not forget the expensive ingrediants required for the purple VR5 recipes too (an extra cost).

The only people paying these prices are those with way to much disposable gold. The problem is that there aren't enough gold sinks in the game (missing housing, hirelings, etc.).

They're worth whatever the seller can get for it.

That said... I never buy purple recipes. If they were changed so that the duration was lowered to 1 hour, and the stats buffed to the same as the blue recipes, then I'd consider paying even a couple hundred thousand for them. But as it stands now, blue recipes with significantly higher buffs for 2 stats, is worth more than purple recipes who's buffs for 3 stats are significantly lower but with longer duration.

TBH if you're running a magicka based character you DO get away better by using the dual stat blue mag/hp food. However, stam characters benefit the most from the triple stat food as they are going to being a few mag based abilities anyway due to the nature of class skills. IMO mag users should use blue mag/hp, and stam users should use the triple stat.

Some of the /zone chat prices are ridiculous. One guy in Cyrodiil was wanting 100K for a purple VR5 drink recipe. He eventually dropped his price to a still outlandish 75K. I have no idea if he sold it.

Another guy was wanting 35K for a level 35 purple food recipe. I offered him a reasonable 10K for it which he declined. He better hope he sells it soon as that recipe won't be worth 5K in a few days.

on the other hand, if they were to buff the purple food/drink buff, then lower the drop rate, its price will skyrocket....

    Its tricky business indeed.

i don't see anything that would affect food recipe price or provisioning skill line design, although it will shot up drink recipe price as they will be able to work alongside the food.

Its a good thing, drink is currently useless to say the least.

Well, the combination recipe will be "rarer", and they will "replace existing recipe with new one that matches quality of the old ones".

So whatever you have, it won't become less valuable.

If I were to bet, I will collect more blue and purple recipe and wait for them to become "rarer".

The weird part is that it doesn't appear on the surface that spending over 100k for anything in this game puts you in the position to recoup the investment.

I would have paid that for the Consummate Honey Brittle recipe but not the others. Although chances are high I will find it soon. In the past week, I found three different purple VR5 drink recipes and the Consummate Honey Pudding recipe which I found twice. Granted, I have been moderately hunting for them - an hour or so a day and while waiting for the long Cyrodiil queues.

I tried to trade my duplicate pudding recipe for the sweetroll or honey brittle recipes but no one was willing. I eventually traded it for the Imperial motif, which has considerably more long term value. I am an Imperial so I can't even read the book but I will hang on to it to see what happens with the upcoming new content. BTW fellow Imperials, even owning or trying to read the Imperial motif is not enough to activate it in either the Eidetic Memory collection or the rare crafting achievement that requires you to know all five of the rare motif styles.

They are talking about changing the ingredients, and eliminating ingredient tiers. In my mind that means changing the recipes, which means we may have to find them all over again.

That is not clear, though, so we'll have to wait and see.

Drinks I think people are buying in hopes they overhaul the system. Honey Brittle is going to be worth the most because it is the only one that you don't need hirelings for an ingredient.

As far as prices a little less every day as more are found.

you see zone chat and how many people are spamming their purple recipes for sale?

that indicates they are pretty common, enough so that people use one then hock the rest.

last time I bought a purple recipe, I told the guy "ill take it for 500g if you are looking to just get rid of it, but I don't need that recipe" and after some back and forth COD'ed it to me for 500g....

I then picked up that same recipe within 4 hours.

Those purple recipes are common...just wait for one to drop if you don't want to deal with people who pretend its one of the most rare and highly sought after items in game.

Remember people use to do this with standard motifs....and now people will sell the blue ones to anyone who will pay.
