What 5 Part Armor set is best for a fighter

I can seem to decide between Whitestrake’s Retributionor the Hist Bark set both seems pretty good. I am basically going to be wearing 5 med and 2 heavy armor. With all attributes into stamina and probably use all HP enchantments and using armor and magic resist enchantments to reach soft cap. Probably going to be using dual wield and sword and shield as my weapons. I will probably use the elude buff giving myself a 20% dodge rating and going to assume it stacks with histbark dodge when blocking. So I ask, what do you people think would be a better 5 item set?

I guess you are referring to questing between level 1-50 yes?

One thing to keep in mind, the higher level Crafted Sets do not have all the Bonuses available when made for a lower level character. So, you may not be get all the traits from Hundings Rage on a sub level 10 character for instance. You can see what bonuses you lose by trying to craft something lower level before you make it. So you can take a trip to the crafting stations, try to make a level 6 armor or whatever, and see what bonuses you will get. That may influence what Stamina crafted set you get for a character you are leveling.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

This is for a character at vr12. Without completing the Whitestrake set I was able to solo a vr giant without healing myself but he did get me low. Im mainly concerned with what might be the better set to tank with. One has a massive shield and and the other a dodge rate. I did use the hist set before it got nerfed when it was 30% and I found that to be good. But sets just got revamped so Im unsure. Im leaning towards Whitestrake unless someone can convince me that hist set + elude with 5 piece med set is better. That would give me a 38% chance to dodge when blocking and 20% without blocking.

Personally i prefer Death Wind over Histbark. Adds armour, health just like Hist bark, but i find the knock back + stun to be much more useful than the 18% dodge chance while blocking. Also not a fan of the damage point shield, just doesn't seem that useful in the situations i have tried it. (Mainly PvP)

I went 5-piece Hunding's Rage, and 4-piece Night Mother on both my veteran fighter, and my level 20 fighter. I'm happy with both.

I would take the Hist Bark out of those 2 choices you mentioned.

Yeah I might just have a backup hist set when i need to tank hardcore but I might just stick with Whitestrake because the 900 damage shield brings me almost an effective 50% hp probably closer to 30% because of no mitigation

You can look at it this way: Whitestrake's damage shield is large... but it only procs when you fall low on HP.. and damage shield do not take your mitigation into account (meaning the shield won't last long).

Histbark is a 18% mitigation, straight up. It is RNG yes, but over the course of a fight, it is the best you can get as far as tanking is concerned. The stats you get for the 2, 3, and 4 bonuses could be better indeed, but they aren't too terrible to take away from that juicy 5 piece.

Personally I wouldnt bother crafting for any char below 50, maybe 40 if I was feeling twinky. You just level too fast and end up out levelling the gear in no time.

Yeah but you only get the dodge when blocking so it is also situational as well because you need to block. My initial thought was using histbark and elude along with ash cloud to block. I might still do it and might craft a backup hist set for when I really want to tank.
