So true. Further confirms my suspicion that the entire Breton culture/landscape is based on real-world British/Celtic. I think it's probably actually only half-and-half rain to clear, but when it's clear at nighttime and raining in daytime it exaggerates the fact. And while I don't mind the rain, it kills my FPS...

ones does start to feel a bit moldy after a while...

wouldn't be great if we could don a cloak or heavy wrap in times of bad/icy weather

I kind of miss it since I have been in the VR levels of the other zones. How are these elven forests so lush and green with so little rain?

In modern parlance, a Breton is someone from the Brittany region of France, a peninsula jutting out of the northwest part of the country. The French style names of many Breton characters in the game seem to back this up. Just like the Latin naming conventions in most of Cyrodiil point to it being based on ancient Rome.

That being said, the Bretons were a Celtic people, and mostly ended up in Brittany after being driven out of Britain by Anglo-Saxons and other invaders. And Brittany itself has a lot of landscapes and ruins that could pass for Cornwall or Ireland.

So it is a bit of a mishmash. We are not talking Paris or the French Riviera or other more stereotypically "French" environments. But I still think northern France is the inspiration for the Bretons.

I saw a lot of rain in Grahtwood and Auridon. Not even close to Glenumbra rains, though. Gosh, this place was terrible, I swear it was raining 90% of the time I spent there.
