Plenty of people left, but I don't think it was hackers causing the frustration. The population's still pretty decent.

Ill give you the anchors since not everyone can solo them, but you threw in all of vr stonefalls? Not to be 'that guy'. But you really need to look at your build if you cant solo the normal quest in vr content now.

No, I am doing the rest of stonefalls including most world bosses fine solo, just the anchors that are a no go.

Does not change the fact that there is nobody wanting to do anchors in stonefalls vr6..

bringing up a low level alt I also noticed a calmness at starter zones, there were other players but not the usually garbled horde. No bots at all (yey) I enjoyed it tho it made me a bit uneasy as to the health of the game.

I did queue up for a dungeon but outleveled it waiting for anyone to join after over an hr. :( the new players I talked to said that was normal to them... the very long wait for a group. I remember it used to take only minutes to get a group for those starter dungeons.

Same story on my vr1 char, I saw 3 other players in hours of gaming in the zone I was in.. .forget trying to get a group up to kill a world boss or do a dungeon.

People are in my way wherever I go. So I'd say the population is healthy enough.

I still don't understand how so many people fit in the bank in Rivenspire. It's like a clown car in there.

Question. Are the bots REALLY gone, or just less evident?

Bots and gold spammers is the main reason why I tend not to play ESO as much as I would have wanted to. Other reasons are this game is not as I imagined it should be, yet a lot of that will hopefully be redressed and I WOULD like to play more. So if anyone can give me definitive proof that bots are at least 90% reduced that would be good news.

I think they have addressed the botting issue pretty well. I no longer receive emails from goldah asking me to pay real money for ingame items. i dont see bots huddled around bosses waiting for respawn. I seldom encounter a resource(orc, weeds, flowers, etc) that doesnt actually exist there. If it does, it might be someone else nearby that i simply cant see. Might not be in my phase lets say. I think they mostly got it, and are getting better.

the key to pop is find some good community guilds and roll with them. I stopped pugging, its a waste of time. I myself have been trying to find talkative active people, but the guilds are either to much or to little. Our guild " The Hydras Teeth" experienced a massive drop in players so we are now on the hunt for more active players interested in doing everything the game has to offer. Keep up the good fight sir! This makes me giggle. Give me definitive proof. Ill ask you a question, can you give me definitive proof that bots were a problem? Before you link threads or pictures of bots, remember i can link pictures with no bots and threads thank zen for nerfing bots.

About the only thing i would consider as close to actual proof is that at one time 100k gold was around 18 us dollars. It is about 53 us dollars now. But that isnt really proof either because ZoS might have just nerfed the really easy places to bot gold. The same number of bots might still exists.

Definitive proof, still makes me giggle.

I find it intriguing how people think they can make money on a game in which gold is basicly thrown at you. I don't find it difficult at all to make money in ESO. Im not a big spender though, but when I spend I spend big on mats and motifs and such.

If you want definitive proof they WERE a problem, just inspect the very many threads on these forums about the very issue. There were/are a lot of them because it was a big problem. What I want is clarification this issue has been largely if not almost fully resolved. I would just find out by playing, but at the moment I am downloading over 3000 MB worth of stuff that I have already downloaded because the client is being a dumb prat due to Zenimax messing up, as they ALWAYS do when they release new content. This is after I closed the launcher down because of metafile error 102 and started it up again. So please excuse my frustration.

Perhaps at higher levels, that's the case. I'm running three alts, all under 40, and not one of them has earned enough yet to purchase the cheapest horse.

Population is fine. Lowbie zones are very well populated - people are everywhere. Riften is crazy with activity, with people doing their crafting, and selling their wares in zone chat. I'm sure a few other cities are similar hubs of activity; Riften is where I happen to spend my time. VR zones are less densely populated, but are populated enough, and are becoming more populated as more players reach VR.

I feel the same way about bots and stopped playing while the issue was resolved.

I expected that much of the bot issue was gold sellers trying to get in quickly and intensely to get a good supply of materials and gold before Wildstar came out. I understand they are now in Wildstar and will probably bleed that game to death until the next game comes out before they move on. The gold sellers do not have unlimited resources, so I was guessing that they would hit new games hard at the onset and back off as other games required attention.

There are still gold sellers in the game. I know where they hang out and I do occasionally see one. They tend to blend in better. Bot farmers seem to be gone, or in places I do not go.

In the first month, there was a massive blob of players all in the place in the game progression. Dark anchors were easy to get groups together simply because there were so many people around. I only saw a couple level 50 veteran rank players in the first month. I never did a group dungeon, but I would imagine it was easy to get people.

Now you cannot sneeze without a veteran rank person yelling "Gesundheit!" (yes, I have used that joke before).

The players are now spread out across 50 levels and 12 veteran ranks. There are still a lot of people round, but waiting is often required for enough people to do an anchor and sometimes there are only three of us (which is really fun and can be challenging if we are all level appropriate).

I still farm the starting areas, with a level appropriate character. There are a ton of low level characters doing quests in those areas, along with a few people farming low-level materials there. No bots.

If your talking about since launch then yes it has dropped. That actually happens with every new MMO. The buzz surrounding it is high and tons of players influx into it. after the first month a big portion of people leave because they didn't like it, it wasn't for them, they are frustrated with the launch bugs, usually after the 3rd month the player base is stable, thinned and evened out. But with the recent steam sale the population has gone back up.

They are a curse, a scourge that I don't believe anyone is able to combat effectively. Gold-sellers and bots. Personally I despise them. I mean it I really do I have no issues stating if I possibly could I would do anything to eradicate their practice. They spoil MMOs on start up, ruining the community, breaking any desire to play such games. I know these ARE only games but what they do is still unethical and sick. I actually would love to see those who do such at least face some kind of community service. If not a jail sentence unless that is over-reacting. If it is I don't really care. I hate them, I really do.

I used to see bots harvesting nodes and farming delves absolutely everywhere I went, every time I logged in. Now I don't think I've seen a single one in weeks.

I used to see gold seller spam in zone chat every single time I logged in. Now I don't think I've seen any in weeks.

I used to get in-game mail from gold spammers every single time I logged in (and occasionally while I was logged in and playing). Now I don't think I've had a single one in weeks.

This isn't definitive proof (because it's impossible to definitively prove that there aren't any bots and spammers in any online game), but I sure haven't seen hide nor hair of them in a loooong time.

I'm definitely not a "doom sayer" or anything. Love the game and see tons of people in Riften all the time. But no one knows where they got that number, it's not official. Also, if you've been watching steamcharts.com, there are never more than 2000 people playing ESO, so you're probably not going to see a huge difference with Steam users (I have yet to see that damn wolfhound!). Again, just putting things in perspective. I think the game is healthy and doing well.
