Blacksmithing Hosed after 1.33

Am I the only one whose blacksmithing is messed up... I can still forge some of the weapons but none of the armor... level 49 blacksmith with lots of research under my belt... if I've lost it all it's a subscription ender.

I haven't had this issue at all with any of my crafts (level 50 smith, clothier, alchemist, enchanter). Have you checked to see if an addon could be causing an issue? Or opened a CS ticket? I've had two tickets opened since 1.3, and I had an in-game chat invitation from a GM within 15-20 minutes.

I'm pretty sure that ZoS would fix something like this for you. Have you contacted support? Their CS staff seems to be very helpful and motivated.

Can you be more specific? Are you getting an error? Does it indicate that you have all the required mats? Does it show your traits still researched?

Um, what? I just made 8 full sets of gear (including light, medium, and heavy pieces) last night with no issues. All of the weapons and armour pieces were there and available to be forged. Are you at a crafting station for a set, and maybe you don't know enough traits on most items to create them as set pieces? If not, I don't know what the issue could be, as it's working fine for me.

Haven't checked my other crafts as I primarily smith... run the game without any mods so that's not the issue.

Will try CS tonight but wanted to see if it was systemic or just me.

I think you should have read the thread. OP has said a couple of times before you posted that he doesn't use any addons. @Amsel_McKay can be forgiven for thinking the issue was caused by addons, because it's obvious that he was already writing his post by the time OP first mentioned that he doesn't use them, but by the time you posted there were already a couple of posts saying that there were no addons...

Assuming the check box (have materials, etc.) wasn't the problem, you may want to try rebooting. There's almost certainly a memory leak going on based on other threads, and I've noticed that after a fairly long play session, the icons on the crafting screen can start to take a while to load. (though I've never had them fail entirely, I suppose it's possible) And it's really sort of hard to use with no icons.

If you are at a Set Crafting Station, then this is what you will see if you choose a set when you don't know the required number of traits. You should be able to choose a regular armor or weapon though and see everything.

So, are you at a crafting station in a town or somewhere out in the woods?

Hopefully you can figure this out, however, did you even ask around in a guild or zone chat or anything to see if anyone else was having this issue? Or did you simply come directly to the forums and title a thread "Blacksmithing Hosed.."? It seems to me you jumped straight from point A to point G and completely disregarded numerous steps that could have quickly solved or explained this issue.

If you're at a special set crafting station, you might not have the required number of traits researched to craft anything from that set ...

You're not the only one this has happened to, there was another thread about this earlier today but I can't seem to find it now.
