I'd like to really know the answer, I know with the passives the sword and board mitigate more, plus you get the extra armor with the shield, not to mention an added piece of armor for the set bonus's.NookyZooky wrote: »I don't mean mitigated damage... ach. its hard to explain. why I was hesitant to make this threadTintinabula wrote: »I don't believe (I may be wrong) that staffs mitigate as much damage as shield do..
I don't understand why both a sword AND a shield can block arrows, for example. that should be only something a shield can do.I'd like to really know the answer, I know with the passives the sword and board mitigate more, plus you get the extra armor with the shield, not to mention an added piece of armor for the set bonus's.NookyZooky wrote: »I don't mean mitigated damage... ach. its hard to explain. why I was hesitant to make this threadTintinabula wrote: »I don't believe (I may be wrong) that staffs mitigate as much damage as shield do..
Or a mage like person of old....casting a SHIELD spell, and thats the position he uses to cast it? "The arrows turn the swords repel, may nothing pierce this mortal shell!"
Is Fine With: premise of magic, demon gods, resurrecting without a soul, dragons.
Is Not Fine With: Non shields being able to block...
And thats ignoring the fact that its called Parrying and is doable if you want to play the real world card
