Lets talk Veteran Provisioning.

Yes it has been discussed over and over from the search results, but i feel it necessary to bring up again. I have spent the last 4 hours spamming zone chat trying to obtain oats for sweetrolls as I cant find them anywhere. Now keep in mind it only took me 22 days of playtime to finally get the food recipe. Now I need oats, nobody has a honest price for them.

750g....1000g.... even in every trade store they are priced like crazy.

Now the math.

Each serving requires 1 imperial item @68g.
Plus the cost of a Oat say 750g.
I can make 4 servings!
@250 a piece IF I was selling them I would barely break even after guild store taxes.

Who in their right mind thiks you should make 750g off your oat while IF, I repeat IF, I were selling them make 50g a piece?

Now, there are 2 other purle recipes that dont require this special hireling ingredients. Why are they other recipes that have the same effects with easier to obtain materials?

Make Oats more common, make tomatoes more common.

They are useless to those abusing the sale of them, they however are not useless to those who took the time to find a purple recipe. People like me who hand out purple food and drink before trials to everyone in the group. This needs to be addressed immediately.

My guess is that most people buy them, consider that a part of the cost, and are using those purple recipes on themselves, not for profit.

Just checked back in to the forums after a couple months away...glad to see the old Oats debate is still live.

Here's your answer, folks: "it's working as intended".
Here's your other answer, folks: "what we intended doesn't work, and we haven't bothered to change it since you've all fed this back".

and that is the problem, there is only demand for two versions of the purple recipe ingredients and not all three. Salt, peper, honey comb, garlic. I can buy that all day for pennies. But those with the2 of three that require some hirling item its just not fair. Its called broken. What makes any of the three purple v5 recipes different they all give the same buff. clearly you understand and see what the problem is or your just being a bad troll.

Maybe I should sell my Oats
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Wellit would be really nice if @ZOS_JasonLeavey or @ZOS_JessicaFolsom or @ZOS_MichaelServotte could chime in as you say its been months and there are several threads about it.

Why do two of the 3 Veteran purple foods require hireling items? Are they not all three the same buffs?

What's stopping you from getting your own hireling(s) so you can provide your own supply without having to pay the market value of the item you want? Obviously other actors in the marketplace are willing to pay the ask but you seem to feel that

a.) Suppliers should arbitrarily sell below what the market is willing to pay just to please you.

b.) Are unwilling to put for the same effort that the current supplies have undertaken to get their own supply.

c.) ZOS should arbitrarily interfere with the marketplace because of A and B.

    That about cover it?

Well we also have a one currency system so that 750gold is more like 7.50gold in relation to other games with a copper silver gold system. So if you think of it like that then 7.50 gold ain't so bad

I have quite a number of oats from my hireling. I am hoarding them, however.

It's pretty much the same with Tomatos and even Pepper. In Jita Rawl'kha ppl sell Pepper for like 1k gold, just like the East India Trading Company or some agrarian Hedgefonds. Tomatos also went for 1k apiece. This is totally crazy.

    a.) No

b.) Makes no sence, the statement involves no noun, so I am unsure who is "unwilling" to put effort to get something. Oats are only obtained from a hireling which I have had for a while maxed out, so I cannot put any effort into getting them.

c.) The 3 recipes all provide the same buff (+257 H/M/S) so yeah all ingredients should be the same difficulty to obtain. So yes they should make all three recipes require a hireling item or none of them. Not 2 of the 3.

No it doesn't cover it. You can point out whatever you like, however you like to spin it; but it is still broken troll.

Can you not read? They are sitting around doing nothing. While kids like you hoard items you cant use because you cant sell them for 1k either. Its easy to say "The item is worth xxx" but lets see some actual proof. Every oat i see in market stores has like 4 days left, because nobody is paying that. Don't be so ignorant to the reality this economy sucks and they obviously didn't think it out.

Excuse my punctuation, I am not writing a editorial or an essay you know.

so I am unsure who is "unwilling" to put effort to get something.
One would think that would be plain as day, but apparently not for everyone so I apologize if I was unclear, allow me to clarify... roughly the person unwilling to put in the effort is YOU.
No it doesn't cover it. You can point out whatever you like, however you like to spin it; but it is still broken troll.
OIC , you're one of those types that believe that everyone that doesn't share your opinions MUST be a "troll", whatever floats your boat.

In any case if I were in your "situation" I would ask my guild/group mates to pitch in with respect to helping acquire a sufficient supply of the items since you indicated "People like me who hand out purple food and drink before trials to everyone in the group." This has several beneficial effects:

    a. It relieves you of the sole burden for gathering materials to support your group efforts
    b. It encourages team building and participation

I'm sure that there a plenty of other creative ideas among the wonderful people on the forums to assist you in dealing with your problem that don't involve ZOS having to interfere with the marketplace (which seems to functioning fairly well from what I can see).

    Have a nice day.

Make a bunch of storage mule alts, level them to 50 in provisioning, invest 3 skill points into hirelings for each and sit back and watch the oats and tomatoes roll in.

    That's what i did anyways ...

Nobody should have to do this. The purple provisioning aspect of this game is broken.
