Are these all still skirts? I am going to make a cloth set in mostly daedric but want pants.

Daedric light "pants" are a skirt. I don't think the other rare styles are tho. I would love to see all the bottom halves have a skirt/pants option similar to what we see with the jerkins/robes. As it is I have the daedric skirt with a heavy chest-piece for a dark-templar look.

Only Daedric light legs are a skirt. All other motifs (rare or not) are leggings.

Is there a Skort option? And can I get some Bass Weejuns for my Japanese school-girl thing going?

I dont know what to make of this topic title....

as for the "pant robe" effect that only a few types have, it would be cool if they added skirt versions for all things, but they still need to do something for armors, like giving heavy armors a robe effect choice...
I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

Hmm we did talk ZOS into giving us the ability to craft Jerkins for every motif type. Perhaps we can talk them into giving us the ability to choose between crafting a skirt or pants.

Now if we can just get a button to toggle off the levitating hip pads and shoulder pads, or maybe some magical glowing mist that explains how they hover so perfectly 10-15cm from our clothes.

    I got a better idea...

Why not make skirts for the girl characters, and leggings for the boy characters? Then everyone walks away happy. If a skirt was on my male main character, I'd run screaming from the room.

But but what about those players that want heavy armor skirts so they can make their character look like their WoW Paladin?

because not all girls want to wear skirts?

Yeah well, unless you're Irish, I'm not wearing a skirt anywhere even if I got paid $5000 to do it.

And also, I learned today that when male people wear skirts, that should wave a big red flag to you screaming "Warning! Stupid person right here!"

Ok, maybe not, but every male on Science of Stupid wearing a skirt kept crashing to earth on his face.

Considering the Time Period that this game is based around I'm sorry to inform you Arena, but men wore a lot of skirts, even into combat during wars. The fact is they provided easier movement then a full set of armor.

You can see this all the way from the Greeks, Roman's, all the way up until the British and Spanish.

Then obviously if I was going into that combat, I'd at least know where to hit...*makes a slicing motion across his legs, then makes a uppercut rights into his nuts*

OW! Ok, I'm going to go lay down in pain...

Please don't eat my recipe while I'm away.

Edit: Yes, I know, I'm being silly. I'm trying to wake myself up.

I'd honestly still like the ability to wear armor and clothing at the same time. And I'm not talking costumes. In Morrowind you could have a character in a full set of heavy armor and wear an expensive skirt along with it. It was actually a great look. I hope that ZOS considers giving us the ability to tailor clothing that we can wear with armor.

Who wouldn't want to wear a billowy blouse underneath their heavy armor top?

Male warrior types have worn skirt like armor/outer garments all throughout history. Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Samurai, Medieval and on and on.

No, that's not the skirt i'm talking about, people. i'm talking the ones that you see orchestra members wearing while playing an instrument held between the legs.

The irony of this, besides you trying to enforce gender roles, is that I am a female and want pants not a skirt.

Yeah, well, every male person I meet wearing a skirt, unless he is Irish, ends up on his face because he did something stupid.

I was just watching Science of Stupid on my DVR, and there was an entire category to male people wearing skirts falling flat on their face. I drew up the conclusion that unless you're Irish, you might want to avoid wearing a skirt if you're a guy.

ahh well I guess you could wear a miniskirt or a knee-length one. I advise shaving your legs though. But you totally don't have to!

Did you know, the reason medieval noble women's garments were so complex was because were a peasant to dress up in them, they would fall on their face. In fact, when you see women lifting their skirts to get them out of the way of their feet in movies, they did not do that. They just learned to walk with them like they were. Only a peasant would lift the skirt.
