What changed with bows in 1.3.3?

The patch notes state ....

"The heavy attack animation now plays fully when you have a bow equipped, even if it’s only charged for a short amount of time."

So am I now not able to clip a heavy attack with an instant skill? Are we forever stuck doing full heavy attacks with no partials anymore? It sounds like this is a direct nerf to the bow and I would appreciate it if any bow users could enlighten us on what exactly has changed and how this affects stealth attacks, instant ability clipping, etc.

Unfortunately what it means is that while others CAN and DO continue to clip and do partials/weave/cancel-jerk....primary Bow users will not/can not/apparently don't rate (*oops, we were already aware of that.)

Thank you for linking that thread but unfortunately it just confused me more. Some say you can't clip animations, others say you can. I guess the sneak heavy attack plus venom arrow combo is dead now?

I hope its not. I ALWAYS follow after a sneak attack with venom arrow. the damage over time is good, and if the player breaks stun, and tries some crap like soul assault, crystal frags, any interruptible attack, I will have interrupted them, and given myself more time to try to kill them before they spam their self heals(save if its another NB, as NB don't have pulled from the brink abilities unless they just have really good healing spells from resto staff, at least from what iv experienced) ZOS needs to abandon the "make the strong stronger and weak weaker" mindset. it is NOT working out. they honestly don't need to be nerfing much of anything at all. they just need to improve some stuff

Soooooo... You're complaining that you can't use an exploit to kill players who have legitimate strategies for trying to stop your ganking shenannigans? That seems pretty weak bro. All I've been seeing lately is people complaining that they can't be cheap *** in PvP. Freaking deal with it.

Let's be fair. What reason is there to use a bow? It can sneak attack at range. It's literally the only thing it can do that staves can't do vastly better. It was underperforming before and it's not performing any better now. You want to talk shenanigans? Equip full light armor with impenitrible trait, use rings that buff armor by 600 a piece, and bust out a resto staff. Attacks never crit you, you have over 2k armor, and every attack you block feeds you magicka. Oh and your ranged attacks can't be reflected, are immune to miss, and ignore dodge.

Yeah, clearly bow was a problem...people were using it and medium armor instead of dress + stick as intended. A few more things to work out before we can totally get rid of these even somewhat viable builds that don't seem to conform to the "mages only" design intent of ESO.
