How to keep your addon settings with patch 1.3

In case you hadn't noticed or don't pay any attention to the contents of your SavedVariables folder (where all your addons store their settings), ZOS fixed a bug in this patch where your account name wasn't appearing as it should in all those files.

The problem this will cause is that all the settings for your addons are currently stored under a [""] header for the account, when that should be ["@AccountName"] since that is what it will be looking for after this patch.

The solution is to manually edit in your account name in each file in your SavedVariables folder prior to launching the game ([""] becomes ["@AccountName"]). Or, if you have already launched the game, but were smart enough to make a backup of your SavedVariables folder first, exit the game, delete all your settings files, copy in your backups, and make the edits before relogging.

This will keep all your old settings under the new format.

You could also check my sig for a nice pre-configured template, which I have updated to patch 1.3.

Where is the "SavedVariables " folder?

[edit : nevermind found it: C:\Users\<unsername>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live - at least on Vista]

It appears ZOS silently fixed the function they broke several updates ago.
    That's good!

Would have been ever better if that had been in the API patch notes so AddOn developers had time to update their code.

Oh wait, right, we don't get API patch notes ...

My settings actually reverted to what they were before Zeni broke that function, which in most cases is actually a benefit (I was lazy and only redid like half of them). However, in cases such as HarvestMap, can I just remove the "@AccountName" section and rename the "" section to "@AccountName"? Or will that cause further issues/data loss? Or do the "" sections get deleted (I have not gotten home to check yet)?

    Thanks.
