We can't dye our Shields?

Yeah I am thinking the issue is that the shield is equipped in a "weapon" slot and so doesn't fit under the current dye system. Not sure how I feel about dying weapons however, though I can agree with hilts/grips/accessory dying easily enough.

Hey, @nimander99. We are certainly still working on getting shield dyeing into the game. It's still on our short-term backlog, but we'll keep you posted once we have more details.

@ZOS_JasonLeavey I constantly here you guys @ZOS talking about the "backlog", and after seeing it so many times it seems like this mystically magical list of all potential future content that you guys are working on. Would it be possible for us to get a glimpse at what this mystical list is? Just a quick note on some interesting ideas you guys are working on would be really cool. Yes, I know everything is subject to change and could get canned at the last minute, but just getting a rough idea of what you guys are working on would be absolutely fantastic.

It doesn't have to be like the standard DAOC weapon dyes as shown above. There should be something that can adjust the tint of the weapon to assist with further customization of characters though...

I'm sorry to take over this thread, but a HEAP of people have asked for Berserker appearance to reflect that of a real Berserker and I haven't seen a response. Someone mentions colouring a shield and it gets an official reply? Come on..

So I was a templar healer in pink armor. I decided to change to tank, and I thought 'hey that Kajiit shield is pretty!". The first shield I made, ended up being pinkish and matching my armor.

It wasnt until my husband (who used to tank) started raging at me, I wondered why he was raging about my shield.

It was then that i learned that you all cant match your shield to your armor. I am sorry

@OP - Agreed, shields constitute a large percentage of the visible armor, and dying should be allowed. Especially the deeper you get into the game, the more time you sink into a character, and the more colors you eventually unlock, all lead to a greater degree of immersion. There's no better immersion breaker than constantly seeing the rear view of your own character running around as a complete mis-match.

@Admin - Any update yet? It's been 3 months, maybe some good news?

@Anyone - I'm leaning towards no weapon dying as well, but with a caveat...I think the skill lines should leads to an end game ability to imbue certain minerals/crystals into weapons to create a specific lasting effect. Perhaps the effects could just be a continuation of the short term effects we already have when we draw our weapon? Or maybe it could just glow a certain hue? Or perhaps a relic from Skyrim that the weapon my begin to glow more when around enemies/undead? Anyway, just an idea.

I can't imagine they'd add a function to dye shields but nothing for other weapons.

and now we got male orcs/nords in wedding dresses, more and more ridiculous mounts ( my normal horse feels unique by now ) and halloween costumes are in the work.

Unnecessary for weapons. I agree. But I would love to see shields be dyeable soon.

Yeah pink swords will be bad but red ones (rubedite) and blue ones (voidstone) are ok, sure...
Please add weapon dyes as well. Glass weapons especially need it

The only way we'll see shield dyes now is if they are only available in the crown store.

If this is the only way we'll see shield/weapon dyes, then this is also the way they won't see my money for it.
