New type of PVP

Just A thought here but WHAT IF?

We had a server that allowed all factions to play together against a increasingly stronger npc force.
for example same maps as now but you compete with each faction to take keeps etc.. no pvping each other just competing to take keeps etc. The faction that claims the keep etc.. gets control of that keep for a limited amount of time from the time that took it ( say 2 hrs) The longer it takes to win a keep etc the stronger the force or more spells bonuses the npcs get or bonuses based on how many are attacking, like give npc the ability to use forward camps or siege equipment.

the Number of keeps etc. own by a faction would get you bonuses for fighting for a title in the center of the map at the arena where all factions pvp against each other for that title or what ever as a reward.
you could make certain keeps etc. give certain bonuses, like more people in the center stage arena or more armor, crit, or a better starting positions in the arena when it starts. Just have those keep etc. bonuses change so people have to work to find what keep has what bonus.

what are your thoughts on this ?

    I play PvP to fight players. not fight NPCs. though it would be cool for some daedra to spawn at a keep during a battle or something like that, it should not be the whole premise of cyrodill.

    there is nothing in this game that lets factions fight WITH faction. thank you for the witty comments you must be proud of yourself for understanding what your talking about.

    @ the OP: the answer is no, because we pvp to stomp each other, not play pattycakes with guards.

    what are you talking about? Its players versus players race to take keep etc. Then fighting one another in a arena at end. what part of my post is not players competing against other players?

    I did miss the part that you actually fight each other at the end... having said that there will be no fight because the type of people that would bother to PvE and PvD to that extent wouldn't likely be interested.

    Wow you are somehow managing to make it worse. Backed by the fact that anyone that disagrees with your frankly terrible idea is a bully it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to suggest that anyone that's killed you in pvp is the list of "griefers" and "exploiters" that you mentioned.

    There are leader board trials for pve'ers to compete against each other.

    OP what you're describing sounds an awful lot like part 3 of the ESO cinematic series where you had alliance armies engaging Mannimarco's Daedric forces (tho I think it was entirely the EP in the cinematic itself). I can imagine something like "Imperial City Bulwark/City Wall" battles where alliances can siege up against massive (and I'm talking swarms) Daedric armies, but what' you're describing as far as the factions 'banding together" to stop a common enemy just can't happen nor should it. Keep in mind if you played the main quest, towards the end getting into Coldharbour where you tried to get all 3 factions to sit down and talk thinks out they basically told each other to screw off UNTIL Molag Bal himself tries to wipe them out. It just isn't gonna happen, but it would be cool to siege up outside Imperial City itself. The City content described in Quakecon seems to relate more to the inside of the city, but there's still the exterior of the island to look at. Such as the docks, Arcane University, prison etc.

    The region is pretty feggin big. There's room to do alot with it I imagine, but not even with Daedric armageddon staring us in the face can the 3 facs be expected to hold hands and sing "we will win".

    Had a slightly different Idea:
    Specialty Campaign Type 1: The Undead Scourge Limited Death Campaign.

    Step 1: Remove all PvE related content from Cyrodil including all animal life, npcs, and monsters. The only NPCS in Cyrodil are the ones at each alliance starting location and at the resources and Keeps.

    Step 2: Have all Keeps/Resources begin under Undead control and all walls at 0% and all towers at 0%.

    Step 3: Have each Keep be overan with many many undead with an undead World Boss controlling them. Something with the same difficulty as the Hard Mode Trial Boss. The undead have a slightly faster respawn timer as normal spawn timers and the only way to get them to stop respawning is to kill the Boss and repair the walls. (why Step 1 is important to free up server resources). The World boss drops PvP loot. (can even let a GM control these world bosses)

    Step 4: Each time a player dies it spawns a random number of VR 12 zombie after 5 mins. This zombie is tougher then normal zombies so beware.

    Step 5: A player who dies 10 times in the campaign during the 7 day duration can no longer enter the campaign or stay in the campaign. IE: Limited death.

    Step 6: If any alliance population grows to high then it will randomly put on of there keeps under attack by zombies. These zombies deal siege like damage to walls and will over run an under defended keep in a very short amount of time. No new world boss would appear in the keep though as world bosses only spawn once per campaign duration. (GMs can spawn a world boss and control them at any time though).

    Step 7: Spawn Zombies that if not dealt with can slowly multiply. Once it reaches a certain number of zombies they will attack the nearest resource and keep.

    Step 8: Enjoy a very hard but fun PvP zone.


    It is PvP with added spice of undead hoards. I understand fighting undead is PvE but ill be killing and trying to kill the enemy players trying to retake their keeps. Have special bosses appear in random uncontrolled keeps that give the alliances a reason to race to the boss all the while killing each other would add excitement (think the Zek servers in old EQ where people fought over contested content).

    This kind of mix doesn't work well. Bad ideas, the one above me and the OP. It is really simple: PvPers want to pvp, they want to show and prove they are better than the other guy through skill and strategy, that is what motivates them. When NPCs interfere in the fight it removes thenfocus from pvp and it is viewed as an annoyance. We see people complain about how the Cyrodiil archers hit too hard sometimes, and they have a point, because guards are supposed to be there just so a couple of players doesn't take the keepmon their own, they are not the focus. If we invaded a keep and were much more worried about guards i stead of the player then it is not PvP and it doesn't appeal to serious PvP players. Same goes for daedric or undead hordes. It might sound cool to a few people, but ultimately it doesn't work.

    What do you honestly expect from the PvP forums?

    I'm sure if I went to the carebear forums and suggested they remove trials and institute open world full loot pvp I'd GSO as well. Get a grip

    The pve forums already have a request for a pve cyrodiil (pvp people you need to go there and have some fun posting.)

    I don't even like it when I have to fight faction npcs in conjunction with players (though using that to your advantage is good strategy.)

    I don't want to work together with the other factions to not pvp. I want to murder them, and possibly my own faction when the justice system comes out.

    @Beedles , your idea is getting lambasted and rightly too.

    While the idea itself isn't bad, you have the wrong title and wrong forum section. Your should be in general discussion or PvE. You could not be further away from a PvP idea.

    What you want essentially is an area, such as Craglorn, but with a higher difficulty and has all three factions working together. PvE with all three factions with some added mechanics.
