Just A thought here but WHAT IF?
We had a server that allowed all factions to play together against a increasingly stronger npc force.
for example same maps as now but you compete with each faction to take keeps etc.. no pvping each other just competing to take keeps etc. The faction that claims the keep etc.. gets control of that keep for a limited amount of time from the time that took it ( say 2 hrs) The longer it takes to win a keep etc the stronger the force or more spells bonuses the npcs get or bonuses based on how many are attacking, like give npc the ability to use forward camps or siege equipment.
the Number of keeps etc. own by a faction would get you bonuses for fighting for a title in the center of the map at the arena where all factions pvp against each other for that title or what ever as a reward.
you could make certain keeps etc. give certain bonuses, like more people in the center stage arena or more armor, crit, or a better starting positions in the arena when it starts. Just have those keep etc. bonuses change so people have to work to find what keep has what bonus.
what are your thoughts on this ?
