    Very nice, but:

1.) They can't seem to figure out how to keep it from raining inside buildings and under roofs.

2.) They can't seem to figure out how to let a horse walk in water of a depth greater than 15% of the vertical distance from the surface beneath the horse's hoof to the horse's nostrils.

Last I checked, Two Worlds 2 is not an MMO. So that looks really pretty, but realistic water physics like that are just not feasible.

Archeage has similar effect that make you bob up and down (also you can go underwater) looks cool.

but as ESO currently has no real use for water other than a barrier.

That game had nice graphics but it was crap. Anyway... that was a singleplayer game, you cannot make a mmo with the system req of that. Not in 2014.

I think the water in ESO looks good. They could add waves like that, but it's not necessary. What you won't see is wave breaks like when you go surfing. Now those would be cool.

I concur. You could go underwater as early as Morrowind (in the ESO universe). Underwater adventures are a staple of fantasy. They blew this, probably due to lack of time/funds/etc.

    And instead we got...slaughterfish.

    Sigh.

Realistic water physics I imagine would put a huge strain on the servers in an MMO. Imagine 50 players battling it out in Cyrodiil with realistic water ripples and splashes on every player. Way too much strain, for even the greatest computer.

But we'll get there someday. Technology's always advancing.

As for underwater swimming, I could see them adding stealth swimming, for use in Cyrodill. PVE side, it wouldn't be very useful. And even then, you probably wouldn't be able to use abilities while in the water.

I'd say they should add in an area specifically for underwater adventuring, but don't people usually hate water levels in game anyway? As for the past elder scrolls games, I don't remember playing much in the water anyway. I remember just a handful of quests in Oblivion that had you play in the water around the Imperial City, and only one in Skyrim.

There are games out there lets your horse swim, get on a mount as passenger, water physics is at least 5 year old technology in mmos. As a fan of TES series, it's my right to ask the best from them. It should be there. No excuses like cos server lags, cos fps drops. I'd say If they can't develop the best then please sell it to a company that can do and stop ruining TES name.

About the Cyrodiil stuff, There are already like NO waters in cyrodiil compared to land it has. That won't effect pvp. Not even a little bit. But, why not use the secret underwater tunnel to attack a keep?

Please read what I said under Water Overhaul Suggestion topic.
I always imagined myself after beating a boss cave collapses then my group mates and I find ourselves swimming in a tunnel avoiding the falling rocks then finding ourselves stucked in a dark room and trying to find a way out with holding our torches in our hands. It's challanging, stressful in a funny way.

Game needs more interaction and OMG moments. That's all.

I've told friends who are interested in ESO that "It's really pretty and the questing is great but the engine feels like it's from 2008." It pains me to say that but I'd rather be honest with them then lead them on and have them complain to me that they can't do this or that....

I don't see the point in this request as long as there is no content based at sea/water.

It would be a viable suggestion if there would be boats for example in the game, until then this shouldn't be a concern.

Heh, we can barely get the X and Y axis stuff down, let's not toss in the Z axis until everything is a bit more stable.

Personally I'm glad there's no underwater content or even diving in ESO. I have this weird thing where underwater stuff freaks me out. I just don't like how it looks, literally can't look at the screen while a character is underwater. You can imagine how much fun I had in Skyrim doing the later stages of the Thieves' Guild questline, swimming around randomly trying to find the exit while staring fixedly at the floor XD. Good thing I always play an Argonian or else I'd have drowned 100 times over.

At any rate, I think underwater stuff would proooobably make Argonians a bit too OP, unless their waterbreathing ability was removed or nerfed somehow. Yes, they could introduce waterbreathing potions or enchants or gear, but the simple fact is Argonians wouldn't have to worry about any of that and groups could plan entire ambushes and such. Not to mention being able to get away from any encounter that was going south for them as long as there was a bit of water nearby deep enough to get them out of reach of things like Talons.

Of course, making Argonians a more viable race would be neat since we have some of the weakest passives in the game (especially since Amphibious potion boost got nerfed).
    Character List [RP and PvE]:
Stands-Against-Death: Argonian Magplar Healer - Crafter
Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts
Kiju Veran: Khajiit Stamblade DPS - Ex-Fighters Guild Suthay who likes to punch things, nicknamed Tinykat
Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean
Gondryn Beldeau: Breton Tankplar - Sarah's Mages Guild mentor and certified badass old person
Gwendolyn Jenelle: Breton Magplar Healer - Friendly healer with a coffee addiction
Soliril Larethian- Altmer Magblade DPS - Blind alchemist who uses animals to see and brews plagues in his spare time
Tevril Rallenar: Dunmer Stamcro DPS - Delthor's "special" younger brother who raises small animals as friends
Celeroth Calatare: Bosmer <insert role here> - Shapeshifting Bosmer with enough sass to fill Valenwood

Arunei, You really didn't get the point. Not at all. Nobody wants underwater combat. What's suggested is ability to dive. What's next? no mountains for people suffers vertigo? or no spiders for people got arachnophobia? Or no jumping how about that? You talk like you've never played mmorpgs before. They play these games to do things they can't do in real life, to believe they are in another world. These limitations are killing this genre. Even at launch LOTRO got less limitations than this game and that game released 8 years ago.

... I want underwater combat.

The following is from my Water Overhaul Suggestion thread:

    Gidorick wrote: »
    Water Combat

While I believe water combat is needed I don’t think the combat should be as fully realized as it is on land. Combat should be more difficult in the water and should have the following issues/limitations:
    • Hot-bar skills shouldn’t be available while in the water, with the exception of the AquaBorn skill tree (proposed below)
    • Attack speed is reduced 50% while in the water

All players should have access to the AquaBorn world-skill tree. All players should be able to swim atop and below the water. Since Argonians have an advantage, because they can breathe underwater, they should have a disadvantage that all other players do not have, a defense de-buff while in the water.

    AquaBorn :wink:Skill Tree

    ULTIMATE:
Amphibious Assault: The ability to select an enemy on the shore and launch from the water to attack the enemy.
-Amphibious Sneak: Attacks from the water are always undetected
-Amphibious Impact: Knocks the enemy down when attacked

    ACTIVE:
Water Dash: A fast sprint through the water. (Stamina draw)
-Dash Attack: Dash causes damage to those in the way
-Quick Dash: Dash is 50% faster
Aqua Rush: 50% Increased attack speed for 10 seconds (Stamina draw)
-Rush Attack: 25% Increased Damage for 10 seconds
-Extended Rush: Additional 5 seconds of increased attack speed
Current Pulse: An attack that creates a forward pulse current, damaging the target (Magica Draw)
-Undertow Pulse: Draws the target to the player
-Pulse Drown: A 50% breath reduction on target
Flowing Salvation: A bubble that encompasses the player, restores breath %100 and heals player 50% (Magica Draw)
-Salvation Pop: Pulse that damages enemies in a specific radius surrounding the player
-Salvation Burst: Pulse knocks back and temporarily stuns enemies in a specific radius surrounding the player.

    PASSIVE:
    Surface Stroke
    - 50% faster surface swimming speed
    - 25% faster surface swimming speed
    Sub-Surface Stroke
    - 50% faster underwater swimming speed
    - 25% faster underwater swimming speed
    Aqua Attack
    - 25% faster attack speed while in water
    - 25% faster attack speed while in water
Deep Breath (Argonians do not have this available since they do not have a breath meter)
    - 25% longer breath holding
    - 25% longer breath holding
Iron Scales (An Argonian ONLY skill)
    - 25% decrease to the defense debuff
    - 50% decreate to the defense debuff

Adding underwater environments and combat could literally add worlds of play to ESO. Players could spend hours treasure hunting or simply exploring. No matter what the system or how robust the environments, underwater exploration are a must for the future of ESO.

I'm not married to the idea of water combat. underwater adventuring is FAR more important to get than water combat.
