COD trading has a major flaw

COD trading relies upon both parties being mutually interesting in achieving a mutually beneficial transaction. What happens if someone sends goods to the wrong email address? In my experience those goods are gone. I have made mistakes in sending goods and did not receive a return to sender. If someone sends goods and the goods are rejected or the email is deleted by the recipient, the goods should be sent back to the sender.

The random guy you sent these items to either pays it up or just returns to sender, if they won't respond you'll get your items back in a 3-day period.
Do you mind? I'm busy doing the fishstick, it's a very delicate state of mind.

the three day timer does NT seem to work because I have one Peron I sold soulgems to a month ago still not accept the email and they have not yet been returned.
That which we obtain to cheap we esteem to lightly, it is dearness only that gives everything its value.

Just don't COD your most valuable items. Small sales which can wait a month to return are fine, but for large trades, insist on meeting in person.

Oh there are problems. I have had my own fun with the current COD a time or two.

Edit: They won't respond.. never did for me least.

The problem with the COD system is that alot of the goldsellers were using it to scam people. So a lot of players decided to just keep the stuff in their mail for however many days it took before it was automatically released back to the player instead of just refusing it when the email was received. The one I did took about 2 weeks before it disappeared from my inbox.
Far too many characters to list any more.

Shouldn't the title read "humans have a major flaw?"

You can't expect the game to fix every error we make.

I sold an AE motif four days ago and I'm yet to receive payment. I've had it happen before where nothing has come through at all :( *** happens but it sure is frustrating.

Here's a possible reason. The mail server only checks that account when they log in. So mail it to someone who is inactive and your mail isn't going to ever come back till they log on again.

No programming in the world can stop you from making mistakes; it is solely your responsibility to send your items to the correct person.

The recipient must pay if he wants the attachments, so you will be paid even if you send it to the wrong person and that person accepts.

Mail with attachments cannot be deleted, so you will get your items back in due time.

You either experienced the same bug as another poster here had, or you once again made a mistake in sending the items.

Is that true? If so, that may explain why some claim they've not received their items back after three days have passed on unaccepted CODs. Do you have a source link?

Nope, just seems to make sense.

So what you're trying so say is, because 50% of the playerbase quit the game, you have a 50% chance of never getting your items?

This is what I was told by ZOC.

I'm sorry to hear about this unfortunate accident but regrettably there is nothing we can do in regards to this matter. Once an item has been mailed to another player, that item is now in their possession and it cannot be taken from them, even if it was sent by mistake.

However if the mail is not opened and paid for within three days, it will automatically return to you. You can also ask the mistaken recipient to return your items.

I am well aware I am responsible for my mistakes. I also am aware that programming allows one to create features that minimize the impact of making mistakes, which is a benefit of technology.

I won't ever COD anything more than a few thousand as well. I also take screen shots of confirmations before any trade over a few thousand in gold. Just in case anything goes wrong, I have my proof. However the mail system needs some work to begin with.

What there should be, is the option to recall our mail via a mail sent or mail pending tab. Then that would settle that.
