Do you experience lag/bad performance?

I wonder if having add-on/s may have any impact on game performance. If you use any kind of software running - even if it only measures FPS - please consider it an add-on. If you can please include which add-ons you use in comments, especially if you experience lag.

Dammit, I accidentally hit "don't use addons". I do use, a lot of them.

So "Yes, I use add-ons" 22 of them.

I only expereience lag/bad performance in PVP. However, I've never tested playing Cyrodiil without add-ons. So it'd be interesting to find out.

Does anyone know if unchecking the add-ons from the character menu and /reloadui would be sufficient to test the impact or would I have to delete the add-ons from my my ESO folder?

Yes, experience bad performance in PvP (lags, up to the point where I can't use any ability any more). It's usually when huge zergs or AOE spamming **** trains are near.

FPS sometimes drops below 25. I think it's normal in huge battles (although I run an i7 CPU at 4.6 GHz and GPU is a gtx780) with lots of players around, but sometimes it still drops when not that much is going on near me.

I generally don't experience consistently bad performance, or even noticeably worsened performance when using addons vs not using them. I've got about 43 last time I checked.

The only thing I do notice is that ones that adjust tooltips (ie. Alphatools and Inventory Insight) give me crazy FPS drops while hovering over items in my inventory, like -30-40 FPS.

I don't think that's considered to be an add-on. That's a separate program that runs outside of ESO. Add-ons are the little apps that go into your add-on folder and actually run through the ESO UI.

No performance or lag issues for me, even with a ton of add-ons. Running ESO on a pretty crappy laptop too. Must be one of the lucky few I guess.

Hmm, I think I should have asked everyone who uses add-ons to list them regardless of whether they get a lag or not. Anything that runs in the background could possibly interfere with the game, but obviously there might be many different sources of problems including internet providers or hardware.

In PvP, i can't use mini map because it bugs my ability to port anywhere. In PvE, harvester has been randomly working which has caused some lag in public dungeons. I have tested a few different ways adding adds to see if lag exists and which one is causing the problems.

So far only minimap and harvester have been the 2 constants when I get lag. Mostly in public areas, but I do get random lag when in public dungeons at peak times.

Skyshards, research timer, lore books, FTC, and a few others have no problems if updated. Eventually, i will have to find replacement addons because the updates have stopped coming.

On a side note, I have addons for wildstar under a different program which was causing a bit of problems because it scanned my PC for other games and I end up with a double ESO addon install so it was too many of the same running at the same time. Once i deleted it fixed a lot of my issues.

I pass the recommended settings but I still get bad lag spikes. I run it at 60-70fps then it drops to like 17-20 for like 40 seconds, then goes back up to 60-70. It sucks because im always in a fight when this happens.

Other: Since there is no other option.

While away on my trips I am running ESO on a 2gb ram, i7 core laptop. This laptop has two cores and I run a stable 30fps(unless in pvp). (human eye can only see up to 40 fps.)

The one problem I run into in the game is the sound files. After a while I noticed if I keep sound on I run out of ram and my game crashes. I noticed it is not all sounds though I am able to keep on the sound for npc's talking and I have not tested further. One option I did notice is that environment music will crash me if i leave it on too long. (for example background songs)

In other words with the sound off you can play this game effectively on a microwave. (I have been running Serpent trails recently, we can get to the serpent running on this microwave of a computer. )

I've tried playing without add-ons several times. It made no difference, same performance issues, crashes and lag in PvP. So might as well keep the ones I need.

Than again I don't use a lot of add-ons(only 2-4) and they're nothing but small features. If my entire screen was covered and clustered, eating memory, I bet there be a slight difference with and without.

The only time I experience lag is when my Internet connection is beginning to go bad on me (and those occurrences are few and far in between, really).

Otherwise my game's performance is stellar - actually better than it's been with any other online game I've played - which I attribute mostly to having assigned eso.exe permanent High priority whenever it's running (plus not running anything else that isn't strictly necessary while I'm playing ESO).

The only addons I use are the ones that show the locations of skyshards and lore books on my map.

However, when I disable my add-ons I experience the same trouble. My computer is a very decent gaming rig and I don't have any trouble with single player games. I've run every check imaginable and everything seems to be fine. My internet connection is excellent. And yet I continually experience lagging and outright freezing. My fps constantly fluctuates from anywhere between the high 40s down to...2. Yes, 2. This is at its worst in Cyrodil and in cities.
The add-ons I use are the skyshard finder, Tamriel time, one that tells me when my horse needs to be fed, and Roomba, the guild bank stacker. However, I JUST added the last one and I was experiencing these problems before doing so.

I occasionally have some lag issues when I keep my computer on for longer periods of time (even when I don't play) but I learned if I just restart my computer it gets rid of those problems and all is good again. I have a lot of addons (not sure exactly how many) and I have shadowplay (external video recording deal through Nvidia) in the back ground and I run about 70-90 FPS on ultra settings. If I dip below 30 I know to restart and I think it is a memory deal so it wipes my memory.

I used about 5 add ons and I found that I had lag issues and when I was in combat often I couldn't change weapons/action bars. I got rid of the add ons and now I still have some lag issues and I do still find I can't change weapons/action bars from time to time but over all it is much better. I still find especially in pvp that my game crashes often and sometimes there are major lag issues.

I'm going to be frank and forward here, I'm starting to find posts like this to be ridicules.

Almost every night, the /zone chat fills up with complaints of skill lag, 10 mins later the entire server kicks everyone out, the map rolls backwards so that if you just took a scroll it's back where it started, you lose or gain keeps, my food buff rolls back to a different food I was using, a skill I just bought rolls back and I regain the skill point...

...and you hardly really ever lag and think it's based on ISPs?
