Emotes Do You Use Them

I have started to use Emotes in the game during those times when nothing is going on, like waiting for Dolmen or a Boss to Spawn. I have been using the /sitchair one recently. Last night another character showed up to a couple of Boss/Dolmen encounters and would play the /lute while I sat, then I would get up and /dance (they need to make that one better quite frankly). I have also started to use the /clap or /cheer after a nice fight where others just showed up.

And, since I was confused on just how to use these darn things at first, I will explain how to use them here. Don't open your chat window or any menus. Just type the slash followed by the word while you are looking at your character.

I often use /lute and /drink while waiting, /cheer after killing a boss or clearing a group dungeon, and occasionally /kowtow at the Scroll pedestal after we capture one.

I use /facepalm when someone runs past me swinging their weapon at thin air, or spams an AoE in a bank. And sometimes I find it amusing to walk in front of approaching horses and use a well timed /playdead when I am run over.
I find /point to be quite useful in dungeons as a complement to chat.

I use cheer or clap after anchor/world boss is accomplished succesfully. I wave and blow kisses to my husband and sometimes spit on NPCs I don't like.

The other day in Daggerfall Bank there was a guy chucking buckets of water over
everybody whilst yelling in chat for everyone to get out.....

I presume that was an emote?

It was highly amusing

I /lute when waiting for something or afking. Or sometimes I just like to stand on the fountain in Daggerfall and see how many people I can get to dance.

I'm also very fond of leaning on things and admiring how awesome I look.

I use emotes, including when I'm playing solo: I kneel before King Emeric, I wave when I am leaving the people I've just helped, I taunt the bad guy and salute officers, I pray at the altar or before a dead body, I cheer when I am with NCPs cheering... I'm not an actual roleplayer, but I love immersion

That would be /bucketsplash It's fun using it on various players and NPCs.

The dances COULD be improved. I've had some pretty fun mmo dances for various characters.

In EQ the drakkin do the pulp fiction dance, and in Rift, one of the races does the dance that JCVD does in Kickboxer during the scene where is is getting trashed and ends up fighting people. Now that one is obscure. My boyfriend recognized it immediately, somehow.

I would like to see some of the dances in ESO be homages like that but I think it would break character.

either way they are mostly underwhelming. I personally use /dancedrunk if I want to use a dance emote. :P

Was waiting for a dolmen a few weeks ago and someone else waiting lined her character up just right so she was hammering the shield I had on my back.

Later at a different dolmen she got the sideways lean just right so she was leaning on my back.

I can never get the placement right for stuff like that. my character moves too much when I hit the arrow keys and can't close the small gaps. I'm either too far away and have space between my hand and a wall, or my arm is in a wall up to my wrist or something.

... sometimes, when I can remember what they are. Otherwise I tend to spend 10 minutes googling for them, and by the time I've come back everyone has gone away...

I use them when I'm AFK as well, usually /lute. I need to find a comprehensive list of them, I've never heard of /bucketsplash before. I wonder how many other cool, off the wall ones there are.

I like to spam /shout at NPCs that take forever to perform a task, open a door/portal or talk too much.

love my emotes ! Use them all the time. Had to kill two goblins for a chest , some guy comes up at end of fight and takes my dang chest... /bucketsplash in face.. AWESOME

I very often use /drum while waiting for something to spawn, and then /horn once it has spawned and I'm about to attack.

What I noticed about the instruments is they play different songs. So if I bring up an instrument and try to play with someone else, it sounds bad. Be nice if they were the same tune or at least beat.

Get the TI Emote addon. No more having to memorize the emotes. You can just click one from a long list, set your favorites, etc.. =D

I noticed that if you use /pushup, you'll do pushups with terrible form, but if you use /pushups you'll do them with perfect form.
