Character viewer out of game?

Just picked the game up from the sale on Steam and have been enjoying it in-game so far. I'm not as impressed with the out-of-game experience though. I'm wondering if there is a character look-up to show level, gear, and other stats on the official website or some other source? Many other MMOs have this feature so I figured ESO would.

I'm really liking the game, just wondering what other types of out-of-game support features there are.

When I asked about this, I was met with a hefty "no" from the community. No one wants gear checks. But I wouldn't mind something from an RP angle.

I would pay an extra $5 a month for an external/web inventory management system.

We don't have this, but I would sell somebody else's left kidney for it, even if I could only see my own characters.

This would be nice to have.... except I wouldn't want it at the expense of anything else. Maybe if they used it as a training exercise for a new dev, or self-practices for a more experienced dev moving to a different department or something?

how about in game gear previews? That way I don't need to craft 5 different racial sets of gear, put them on to look at them and see what I like best, then deconstruct the rest...

+1 This would be a great feature. In fact, give us a RESTful API and the community will build it for you - not to mention iOS and Android apps to help make the game go viral!

An app for the cosmetic visuals only would be well met if/when we could also perform character customization after creation (for me at least)

Sorry But I don't want anyone to be able to look up my characters information! I hated it in the other games I played before.

I won't mind it they do it as long as I can op out of it.

I wouldn’t mind being able to use an app or something to Check and see what motifs I’ve learned and manage research, selling, etc

This has been necro thread a few times. Waaay back in 2014 on eso Live one of the DeVs said they didn’t want this type of experience.

Maybe that has changed as they do use CP in a weird way but i don’t see any value to this unless it’s a full interaction more than just viewing my character. I still don’t think we should give access to other people’s characters but some social features I know would be appreciated.

However do it right or not at all

If you want a replica of your own build and the ability to theory craft and see your own real time stats go to the uesp build editor.

why not just write the stats you need onto a piece of paper you carry with you?

if it needs to be on your phone or whatever, just find a good notepad app. does the proposal have more functionality?

I wouldn't mind a app but I would want the option to password/hide it from public viewing.

There are a set number of people in this community who are elitist and picky enough as it is without giving them the additional options of scrutinising everyone else's gear.
