Hi,
I've never really been much of a PvP'er, is there any advice people could give me to get started ? Is a resource takeover possible by myself ? As a Templar healer am I useful in Cyrodil ? Anything else you can think of that would help I would be very grateful. I want to try all aspects of ESO & this is the last frontier for me.
Thank you in advance

V4 Breton Templar, Spec'd for healing mainly.

Do the 'welcome to cyrodiil' quest. It will give you two skillpoints, and teach you how to use siege engines.
Buy a ballista. Stick with a group of people (the bigger the better). Don't get discouraged when you die often - PvE does very little to prepare you for what you will be facing from enemy players in cyrodiil.

Healing is always useful, and gives pretty good alliance point rewards. One player soloing a resource is possible, but only at the top tier of gameplay (its the stuff that bragging videos are made of) so do not plan to do it anytime soon ;)

Just jump in and learn by watching.

You will not be able to solo a resource by yourself especially as a healer. Templar healers are very viable in pvp, and work well with groups having the only real direct heals in the game. You'll need to find ways gear and strategy-wise to be magicka efficient however. If you've leveled heavy armor Immovable is probably the best pvp skill in the game to keep you from getting stunned while also increasing armor and spell resistance by a ton. You're going to want to be in a group and focus on keeping them alive. Use line of sight to your advantage, or come up with other creative ways to take pressure off of you when you're inevitably focused.

Thank you for the advice, as a healer I heard a lot of players talking about going down the light/heavy route but wanted to stay with the light armour. Not sure if that's a mistake for PvP or not, I currently am overcharged on spell resist & use restoring focus to help my armour & health. Due to being fully light armoured I am at max magicka & recovery & have nearly reached softcap on health as well. Hopefully magicka will not be a problem when taking these into account. I am currently in a PvE guild & I've just created a spin off PvP guild as it seemed to be requested a lot by the members, they all know I'm not an experienced PvP'er & we're planning on building up together, so hopefully this will help with my role as a team player. I'll get in there with the guys & see how it goes with the advice you've given me.

'Welcome to cyrodiil' is a quest you automatically get when you first enter cyrodiil. I believe the quest does not directly award skillpoints, but it rewards alliance points, which in turn increases your alliance rank, and you get the skillpoints from that. So it only really gives those skillpoints if you are totally new to cyrodiil, like the OP.(if you aren't new then you already got those points from normal pvp activity)

On the contrary. Light armor is currently the most efficient way to go for pvp.
