Caltrops drains stamina?

I've noticed now that i've actually started using caltrops normally that sometimes when it hits targets, it drains a little bit of my stamina.

Is it supposed to do this?

I'll try to make a video of it.

It seems like it only happened that one day. Could not reproduce.
