Where is Radiant Raiment? ESO give us some decent threads!

I appreciate the style and feel in ESO and I'm looking forward to the exciting new art that was disclosed in the QuakeCon update. However.. Im an old grumpy guy and I like my armor a little beaten with a bit of wear... It adds character... I also still have a T-Shirt or two that I wore in highschool.

Not everyone is like me. the ESO gamer demographic is wide open. Many women play this game.. and quite frankly, I feel sorry for them. The lack of appealing and fashionable cloth armor is a chief complaint that I hear from my female partner and I am sure that she is not alone. Even as a grumpy old guy I sometimes wish that I could put on some cool threads while I do my crafting... You need to put the armor down sometime and it just helps with the immersion.

Every piece of armor is dull, drab and fugly. In general, robes look like they were made for the clergy. I have never seen any dress. This is not true to the lore. Why is there no Radiant Raiment in all of Tamriel? A want of fashion could not have changed that much, especially if it's something Elven highborn are accustomed to.

So please please give a bump to the thread, a shout to developers and such if you want to see some good looking threads in ESO. Give us Radiant Raiment or a similar store.

Thanks. - M.

as a woman I'll take the dingy gritty feel that I have come to love and adore in ES games. (don't take me for a crazy feminazi I appreciate the sentiment)

I see what you are saying but there is a style you come to expect from ES. a lot of sacrifices had to be made to keep this game an MMO within the ES universe. The paint job just seems like something that you don't have to sacrifice and keep it the same feel.

Earth tones and muted colors in a well worn medieval world is very inviting me and I am extremely concerned about some of the ... attire people will be wearing in the next patch.

In a sea of cartoonish and over the top MMOs I found this games muted feel to be a gem.

It could be done properly,a s you say, though there are plenty of muted yet "standout" colors in skyrim - for example

if things like this are what you mean. Then I am 100% behind you.

    I find myself agreeing.
However the armour dyes for guildies will go down a storm in cryo so it's abit of balancing act, but as you say there are ways and means to have distinctive yet muted.

I think he means just ordinary civvie clothing, that you can wear around town while playing an instrument, talking to NPCs, or RPing with other players, etc. Nothing over-the-top anime, but you know, stuff like casual or dress clothing.

Radiant Raiment was a store where you could buy fashion clothing in Skyrim, iirc.

There were also lots of clothes to loot in the world.

I had a clothing set quickslotted in that game, that I could put on before doing my thing for the Become a Bard mod; it just looked stupid to be performing with armour on.

We have a "clothing" skill line, but it's really just cloth armour; I think he would like to buy or make just plain clothes.

@isengrimb16_ESO‌ that is it exactly.

Radiant Raiment is lore friendly. Fashionable clothing belongs in the Elderscrolls gameverse.. it has always been a part of it and should be here.

here is a link to the elderscrolls wiki for anyone not sure what style of clothing I am referring to: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Clothing_(Skyrim)

    some other examples:

Even though clothing isn't armor they could still be enchanted, so it's possible they could be more than just casual or RP wear.. I imagine any magicka-based character would be able to PVE just fine using normal clothing. Not only could they add a store but this is the kind of stuff we should really be finding in wardrobes and dressers.

I'm all for more civilian clothing, ideally in the form of costumes. I regularly wear the Servant's Robes disguise, and would love to have the clothing the noble NPCs have. Hopefully they'll add this in when they add in costume dying.

I absolutely agree with you and those are perfect examples of how it should have been done, but instead of that we are getting this.

Well, at least Diablo 3 has the evil woman-thing I remember from when my kids watched that in the early '90s, so we don't have to worry about her here.

What was her name? Witchy-poo? No, no, wrong show ...
