I know this post will get locked and I really don't care.
I'm posting it here because it seems all feedback has to be done from within the game and as I can't stay in the game for longer than a minute I thought I'd post it here instead.
I liked the game, sometimes I even loved it. Graphically I think it's stunning, gameplay is great up to veteran levels, questing is good and with decent stories, crafting is one of the best systems around and PvP in Cyroddill is beautiful and engrossing.
So what's the problem?
Basically from day one this game has infuriated and delighted me in turns. Technically it's awful. Despite having bought the imperial edition on release and installing from diskI had to practically reinstall the game for almost 24 hours on my slow internet connection before I could play it. This set the tone for a game of technical ineptitude the like of which I've not experienced before in over 20 years of online gaming.
I haven't had half the problems some people have had but the blue screens leading to PC reboots since the graphics update has meant that I can't even log in safely any more.
I realise that making a game to run on the myriad of PC configurations is extremely difficult but other companies manage to do it with a lot less hassle than we have to endure.
Then we have the bot invasion that went on for weeks without any proper intervention. The Zen guys seemed totally incapable of dealing with it.
Now each new patch or content release comes with a host of new problems and unfixes stuff that was fixed before. It all smacks of a pretty unprofessional outfit. If that sounds harsh then I'm sorry but that's the impression you give.
And then there's customer support which in general is pointless. I've had emails answering some questions that don't even relate to what I've asked. And I don't need to be hailed as a fellow traveller either. I'm a grown up.
So I'm off.
Give the graphic artists, zone designers and lore writers a massive pat on the back for a job well done.
But I'd give the coders, quality control and customer care some extra homework and make them stay behind after school.
