So on 07/12/2014 I crashed about 5 times through out the day trying to use vendors & feed my horse in Elden Root (Grahtwood) on a alt. Today 07/21/2014 I crashed 3 times with in 30 minutes while in Coldharbour while looting zombies at the Vile Laboratory & then using the vendor in the city, the Clothier by the crafting stations Ladralas.

My boyfriend this past weekend 07/18/2014-07/20/2014 would crash every time he tried to feed his horses, use vendors or try to access his bank. He crashed about 3 times each day.

Has any one else had these issues since the last hot fix that was done? That's when it really started to happen to me a few times a day. Before it only happened I think twice since I started playing on 05/08/2014.

This issue needs to be fixed. It never used to happen before & now you'd think I was getting something for free with how often it has been occurring.

I was having a crash any time I was in an inventory: in the bank, crafting, or just my inventory. Sometimes it would happen upon opening, other times when switching between filters, and sometimes just when scrolling. This went on for a week or two. It didn't happen *all* the time, but it happened a lot, and I was sending in every crash report that popped up when it happened.

After trying to repair my client and all that nonsense, I went through and double-checked all my add-ons and whether they needed updating. I don't use out-of-date add-ons (ones listed as no longer "compatible), but I still had some that had been updated since my last big update. I updated all my add-ons, deleted one or two that were no longer being updated (I wasn't using them anyway because they were listed as out-of-date), and thus far no more crashing.

This may be a problem for you if you use add-ons. If not, then definitely try sending in a bug report.

For over a month now I`ve been crashing a lot too, often randomly, sometimes while fighting a mob, sometimes while running, other times when talking to an NPC.

It might be because of the occasional alt tabs or the Steam overlay (nonsteam game mode). I have disabled some addons, updated all but it still keeps happening.

I don't think I have any out of date addons selected but I will double check when I reopen the game since I crashed a 4th time today while trying to take items from my mail -_-.

Oh wait there was a patch today so most of them are out of date now. I guess I have to wait a few days until they're updated & I can really test it out. I'm hoping the addons aren't the problem cause I've already gotten rid of a bunch that weren't updated after update 2 went live

Since around 1.2, I've been getting pretty constant "Data Load Error" dialog boxes that knock me out to the desktop, but the client doesn't actually crash, and I can just click on it on the taskbar and pick up where I was.

If you are using the resource gathering mod, you might want to try disabling it. It uses a ton of memory and continues to use more the further into the game you go.

I was having all sorts of crash and lock-up issues, and they went 100% away after I removed it from my game.

Note, it is not enough just to turn off the display; it still stores the info on any nodes you run across. You actually have to disable the addon fully, or remove it altogether.

@Innocente‌, I have been using that add on for 2 months now. For it to just start wouldn't make sense. My boyfriend doesn't use that addon & he is starting to crash just as much as I am.

Understood. Just relating my own experience. The addon does slowly retain more and more data in memory. So there is a point when the system starts to crash where it did not before.

Perhaps there is another addon that you both use that might be causing the issue?

@Innocente‌, I totally just re-read you're first sentence lol. So what you're saying is since I've been using it since like Grahtwood or so it just keeps adding up more & more?

@Innocente‌, With the patch today it's really hard to tell which add on it can be since almost half of them are out of date now :-(

Yes, I checked the code and the addon does not work like Gatherer in WoW. It has taken a lot of shortcuts and data management is one of them. Another symptom is very slow loading when going from zone to zone. Crashing of ESO after exiting the game is another symptom. Crashing when going to an new zone as well.

I would recommend just disable all addons, then play a bit. If no crash, bring one back in. Play a bit. You get the idea.

Probably unrelated, but I did notice Saturday that in a level 8ish DC quest where you are running around in disquise disabling traps/avoiding wolves (who can see through the disguise) Every time I disabled a trap the game would crash. (also once just walking around, suspect I was attacked by a wolf). From what I could determine, it basically was any time my disguise got removed. Eventually finished the quest, and haven't had a problem since. (or before, for that matter)

No idea if it was due to any addons (I do have quite a few) and as I eventually got past it, I didn't really take the time to check.
