So... Patch notes?

I don't get why you guys don't put the patch notes up at the start of maintenance. Other MMO's do it. It gives us fans something to read and discuss while we wait. Are you afraid the patch won't take and that you'll have to rescind those notes? Don't worry about it. Just put big red letters at the top saying, "Patch put on hold until next maintenance." Big deal!

I agree with you, that seems to be the only reason they wouldn't post it. They could even say on the patch notes, its possible not all of these things will take affect. Then once they get the servers back up tell us what didn't go as planned

How about maintenance? Can we expect a couple more hours? I'm just curious to know if I should get started on some yard work or not, please? Thank You :)

Maintenance should be complete within the hour so unless you have a small yard, you may want to wait. ;)

Yeah, I know. The question is why. Surely they know what is going to be in the patch prior to the actual patch going out. Why not have this stuff typed up ahead of time. Maybe keep a working document that gets added to as the patch is developed. I dunno - it doesn't seem crazy to me; other MMOs have the notes ready before the patch goes out.

Not knocking you, Gina and Jessica - I know you both work really hard. Maybe have Matt Firor type them up ;)

You are right, it doesn't make sense. Maybe if they could explain their process and include the WHY it would help. But alas that requires communication....

The fact that the last few patches have had so many "stealth" buffs/nerfs/changes really worries me. They either dont keep track of what they are changing very well or do this on purpose for some reason. Either way it doesn't sit easy with me.

yes... it's the quakecon effect... I still hope there is going some of that stuff in this patch note even though I know there won't :S

How desperate are you people? They will be uploaded when they are ready.

If ZoS prefers to put the patch notes up close before maintenance completion you will have do deal with it.

Just do something else while waiting.

20 years or so software development experience...documentation is always the last thing done. No, that isn't how it is supposed to work: requirements, design, implementation, test, integration...but that is just how it always seems to play out. Documentation gets the lowest priority (or seems to).

True story, I got laugh at on a telecon when I asked for documentation on a software project long after it had been fielded. I would have laugh too if I hadn't been asked to guide a team's implementation using that product's API. So, instead I muted the call and screamed...it helped.

Mainly that they took away my source of free AP's. Darn it. I was really looking forward to being the hero of the day by deploying a forward camp and overwhelming Ebonheart Pact.

I'll clue you in, it's with regards to Blue Road Keep.

Today's patch is mainly fixes - we'll be releasing Update 3 in the beginning of August which will have many new additions to the game.

So.. a 4 hour downtime for some general bug and quest fixes totaling a 200mb patch.....?

Blizzard does that in 30 minuets. Why does your downtime take so long?

Well could be many things. A) the boss wants a report in a certain format to see what has and will be accomplished and the team has to copy paste what the reader wants to know. B) on paper and retype it. C) same as A but low staff today. D) meeting and after meeting send out. E) person that is suppose to send out patch notes is getting some couch, teach and mentorship from the boss. Of course RL stuff.

Hello? A server has more parts than a computer, plus it's new, plus it's a megaserver, which means its bigger than Blizzard's server. Now, let's all grab a bite to eat, by the time we get back, server's up. Set your clocks to 10 minutes...and go!
