Ok, this is probably a dumb question from someone who has now leveled 2 characters as high as level 48 and 49, but other than getting a "bite" from another player, how and where do you become a vampire!? I thought it would be in Cold Harbor, but never found anything there either....

Not a dumb question at all. I can only comment on my own faction, DC, the blood fiends spawn in bangkorai, east of pelin graveyard.

Failing that, I'll bite you for free, just message me

There are a couple of places. The poster above me gave info on Bangrokai.

The bloodfiend's also appear in Reaper's March near the north eastern wayshrine. I forget the name of the town. Also in the Rift at near the wayshrines dotted along the south road from Riften and going west.
They appear when the both moons are tiny slits in the sky.

It can be a pain in the butt to get it because there are people who like to Grief other players looking to get bitten so they can turn around and sell a bite. Don't ever buy a bite from another player. There are a few people like myself who give our bites out for free.
Far too many characters to list any more.

I'm EP, but I've fought blood fiends in 2 or 3 places without ever getting bitten. Do you just have to keep fighting them until you do?
