Being in a random PvE city and seeing it be zerged by a criminal guild while you are hanging around the inn?
Do you mind? I'm busy doing the fishstick, it's a very delicate state of mind.

I shudder at the thought. I'm just glad Zenimax had the foresight to not include being able to pickpocket other players. THAT would have been abused for sure.
As it stands, I can STILL see it being abused and used to grief other people.

    Edit:

They've also just effectively cut off gathering provisioning materials in any town, which I'm not overly pleased with.

I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

Yes, that sucks. I was hoping you'd really have to go out of your way to get mixed up in that silly justice system. Frankly, it sucked in Skyrim. Anything good was marked with "steal".

I have a real hangup with the concept of "stealing", there is a long story behind that, and 10 wasted years trying to help the unhelpable.

I was hoping it meant certain unimportant NPCs that just sort of hang around would be pickpocketable/murderable, and that would be it.

Yeah, I am totally against ruining PVE immersion for the sake of a gimmick.

I haven't read where they plan to allow raids on PVE cities but if that is true it is a stupid idea and I hate it.

Being able to pickpocket NPC's, have unique lootable stuff appear in certain locations like people's homes, possibly if you use a guild-specific ability to reveal it, would have been perfectly fine.

Having waves of griefers flood the cities when they're bored?

You have got to be kidding me! Like all of them taking their stupid monkeys out at the bank wasn't bad enough!

This is going to be terrible!

Being able to grab everything you see is one of the few real charms computer games had over tabletop RPGs (where you don't need a lot of "stuff" in the first place. Unless you're a Bone Gnawer, and you got that stuff from garbage dumps, anyway.)

The tone of many of those who support expanding PvP into PvE zones is often filled with the malicious glee of the borderline sociopath, so while I do feel that a theft/justice system is in keeping with TES history I have real fears that if ZOS do not do a very careful job it will be used by such people to deliberately spoil the gaming experience of others.

Mishandling this change could see a lot of people leave, getting it right could add an excellent new aspect to the game.

Until we accidentally "steal" something out of a crate or piece of furniture. Or are tempted to because we find a purple recipe or motif in there, with a BIG RED "STEAL" on it.

Keep this stuff away from containers, just restrict it to the milling background NPCs that are just there to make the cities look populated.

Ugh, I don't like my pve getting mixed up with pvp much. They should have made it as "you really have to go out of your way to be a filthy thiefing lawbreaker", and not something some casual, new-player derp can get mixed up with accidentally.

I like to play with auto loot turned on. So I guess I'll have to give that up because I have to watch what I loot now?

I need to go read up on this before commenting more but I have always thought mixing and destroying one aspect of PVE play for the sake of another is a bad idea.

If you can't implement something subtly without breaking or replacing aspects of the game that are already there, it is probably a safe bet you aren't ready to release it.

    So don't push!

If we kill a thief, what's the reward?
If your a thief and I kill you what's your penalty.
I see a bunch of people standing around, one steals one kills him, then switch.
If the reward out ways the consequences, it will be abused.... And that is an injustice.

Yes. And I have no problem giving NPCs what-for, that's what they're there for - frustration sticks asking for a senseless beating when we're having a bad RL day.

"Toons" with real people behind them are a different story to me. :/

Imagine a v12 zerg criminal guild, they can kill killable npc, massacre your guard guild, and move from town to town. Seems much like an open world pvp.

    This is stupid.

IDK....If I am solo questing and go into town to resupply or craft or goto the bank...but I can't because a ton of over level zergs are farming newbs. ..I will not be happy. But from what I understand it's not pvp in the pve areas...it's mainly crimes against npcs.

Oh and if I can't repair my stuff because the entire town was just massacred ...again will not be happy.
