Argonian skeletons.. where's my tail bone?

Exactly what it says on the tin!

Reached ColdHarbour and did a quest that NPC's pointed out the "Skeleton Argonian", yet it did not have a tail.

I will now stroke my beard meaningfully and begin 'tutting'.

You mean they didn't design skeletons for the beast races? It's pretty much lazy development that goes back to the beginning of the series. Players that developed mods have actually introduced these concepts into the games though, while minor in the grand scheme of things, these types of oversights can be annoying.

@ers101284b14_ESO Have you been to a natural history museum, ever?

The tail is all muscle no bone.

Is there some reference to this somewhere? I have found no mention of the tail being only muscle on the Wiki. Is there an in-game reference somewhere? I would think that a lizard would have tail bones.

It's the only excuse I could think of.

Also, Gemstone of Skeletal disguise... *disappointed sigh* .. No Tail Bone.

Must I huff and shake my head as well as tutt? I may escalate this protest to a "Harrumph".

Don't forget khajiit. And neither of the beast races have skulls that look like they belong to them.

Even EQ had the decency to make different skeletons for the iksars.

Thank you @Hypertionb14_ESO Yes, I meant Bones. I failed to notice I did not press the 's' key hard enough as I typed.

Much like you forgot to press 'shift' when beginning a sentence but did it after a comma for some reason. :)

I wondered that about the khajiit. While on one of the starter islands for the Aldmeri, you're in a Khajiit land, yet all the skeletons you find are humanoid in shape.

It seems, only the men and perhaps the mer races leave behind evidence of their deaths. I can see elven skulls being shaped somewhat like and being mistaken for humans, though they probably should be shaped with more elongated domes with bigger eye sockets. But you never see any skeletons of other races, even if you're supposedly in their burial chambers. Orc skulls should have underbites with tusks, argonians should be lizard-y (the females would look especially alien, methinks), and the Khajiit should have cat skulls.

I will love to have true undead Argonain and Khajiit models with their tails bones. I have mod Skyrim to add them and really really really want to see it in ESO as well.

Well, lizards and cats have bones in their tails so I would think the same would be true of Argonians and Khajiits.

The tail is all muscle no bone.

Tail is an extension of the spinal chord and while in some cases in vertebrates there are no bones in the tail it would have cartilage, because muscles need something to attach to in order to work.

Coming back to the OP's question - if argonian tail is cartilage then it's understandable why its missing as cartilage is decomposed much quicker than bone. Say, the time that said argonian had spent dead before being raised was enough for cartilage to wither but not enough for the bones.
