like a scroll. you learn it its permanent for you then its gone instead of just trading the spell over and over so everyone learns it. come on guy =p

They mean the tome or item you use to learn the spell becomes consumed

We learn them forever not one time use. But you can make a spell for a friend and give it to him to consume. That's what he meant as consumable.
It is forever in your skills but you need to consume it like a motif before.

You realise that in past ES games, a Scroll was a spell you could only use once right?

The way they phrased consumable just scared me is all, but I understand now.

Do you mind? I'm busy doing the fishstick, it's a very delicate state of mind.

You realize that in Oblivion, you could create your own spells (*not* scrolls) and use them just like any other spell, right?

Only problem will be how players will rip off others when they find a legendary spell. I am also worried, that the instances where you get spell plates are not solo and someone can steal it away from you right in front of you... like a chest.
My personal nightmares with spell crafting right there...

Yeah if you use the tablet it gets added to your skill screen (under spell school (destruction, restoration etc. which you level up liek any toher category we have now)).

The thing is, the spell you learn isn't all possible choices for that spell, it is the base spell, the augment selection ,and the tablet type.

So if I make a flame atronach with the permanent (so it is a pet) modifier on a mid level cost/power tablet. It is a different spell than flame atro ultimate on a cheap tablet (low power and low cost to cast).

Both require materials to make etc. Once I make them I can sell them to other people or use them myself (in my book forever), but even if you have the crafting ability, you don't get all the spell variants in your book to cast unless you make them all into tablets then use them.

That makes a lot of sense thanks for explaining. Sounds like a nice system to me.
