Doesn't make a lot of sense to go through the trouble of creating the pet, only to have it available for three days?
It will show-up in a store, as a quest reward, something-or-other down the road, I would bet.

Sure it does, WoW has a wide variety of vanity pets (and mounts) that are only available during special events, limited time promotions, other sales, and so on. Most of them never go on sale again in another form and stay exclusive to those who were in on that moment. It's not just WoW, other MMO's have done this in the past, I don't see why it's a big deal now.
So, let me get this straight, the wolf hound pet is available only to new purchases of the Imperial Addition through steam? What about the people who already purchased? Is this just an F U to us if we purchased it a long time ago? I'd be more than willing to trade my stupid crab for a dog, how are people just barely purchasing the game now getting better stuff than what i got? Please share some enlightenment here and maybe some good news cause as far as i am seeing this is kinda garbage, i want a dog but its pointless to buy another account, and not only that but i wouldnt have the dog on my main account so in order to have the dog i would have to start all over again? Am i on the right track here?

Where did you come by the impression that you are entitled to any product enhancement a company comes up with simply because you purchased said product at some point in the past?
I hate to be the one to break the bad news but the world doesn't work that way.

As far as I can tell from the Steam sales page, buying the software from them does NOT include a new account. You have to make one. I don't see why buying the software from them doesn't just give new keys that can be applied to existing accounts like many of the keys used for the explorer pack and pets...
When it comes to subscription services, its always good to the new potential customer people.Thats like basics.
I doubt people new to the game have as much adherence to a subscription model as someone who started from the beginning, but I do know that dividing your playerbase over a self manufactured problem may not be the best for keeping players.
Who knows, I could be wrong. No flaming intended.
They baby these forums by moderating any kind insults made to other members, and then give us the finger like this. And to add insult to injury, you have every self righteous idiot lecturing us about entitlement and business practices. What a pathetic example of customer service.
The only MMO that I've ever been a part of that hasn't done this crazy cash grab marketing is FFXIV. The western vs eastern view of game development is interesting.
One appreciates a playerbase and rewards loyalty, the other develops new practices to entice more money into their pockets with pre order dlc, skins, and vanity wear.
We'll see what is to become, I guess. This is my personal opinion.
If you don't like how subscription services work, then you can unsub. No need to insult people with tedius comments. In every subscription service i use there has always been offers to attract new customers and yes they only apply to new subscribers.Im sure there will be more stuff coming to tempt new people to join, don't see anything wrong there.
I never said i was entitled to it, but to only offer it to new accounts is more or less what is going to upset people,

Big difference between exclusive items and 3 for $10 in your local Walmart bargain bin, or 20 nuggets for $5 at MickeyD's.
"Herp, other MMO's did it, derp. If you don't like it... Derp."
