I hate enchanting.

Just spent two hours trying to find a decon partner with no luck. I offered to trade for any kind of glyph by just comparing XP yields on a chart I found. Any potency or quality. I asked in every single EP zone.

I'm only one level away from being able to make glyphs for my new set of armor but absolutely nobody will trade with me, despite me offering complete flexibility for trading.

It got to the point where I was actually offering gold per glyph traded as a tip and still nobody would trade.

So you can imagine my frustration at this point.

Enchanting is awful. I don't care what people say about how "it should be this difficult." I'm okay with "difficult." I'm not okay with "virtually impossible without trading, but nobody will trade anymore." A profession should require effort to be put into it, but no game should require you to ask in chat for hours on end for people to trade with you. That's not fun. That's not a challenge. It's stupid.

My friends who play more casually can't keep their enchanting anywhere near their character level. You're either lucky enough to have a partner to regularly trade with, you devote way to much time / resources to enchanting, or you just don't get to make glyphs.

This is all on top of the multitudes of people complaining (and rightly so) about how max level enchanting offers marginally better stats than just buying vendor glyphs.

/end rant

So any news on if this is going to see some reworking?

Frankly, I was fine with how long it was talking to level up, because MMOs are a marathon, not a sprint race.

However, good news for you on the upcoming patches. They did say they were going to make it a bit easier.

    I have no details.

I have no objection to the notion of a marathon. What I object to is that it isn't difficult so much as tedious. Like I said, I just wasted two hours trying to find help to no avail. No profession should be that hard just to keep it concurrent with character level. Plus a marathon in an mmo is supposed to lead to something. Enchanting in ESO is just a constant game of catch-up with poor rewards.

That all said, thanks for the constructive feedback.

May i ask why you needed help in crafting enchanting? Was it just for the extra xp?

If so, I would not waste two hours looking for help. Just toss them in the bank or on a mule and just ask your guild once in a while.

Give me a friend invite @blackwidow with a message. Next time you see me log on, I'll make you the glyphs, no charge.

Another option is to wait with leveling enchantment until you hit VR. Level off of dropped vet glyphs and bought glyphs (there's usually some on trade guild stores, if dire need be, vendor ones will do, too) till you can craft VR1 glyphs. Then go to the VR version of the starter islands and farm runes.

Trying to sell glyphs at the same price you bought them from guild stores may help you with not going broke in the process, but glyph trade has significantly slowed down as the bulk has either reached their goals or given up entirely.

If you absolutely cannot find someone to trade glyphs with, rolling an alt to trade glyphs with is a workaround, shouldn't you mind the additional farming. Feeding VR runes to it from your main char should bring it up to par in an acceptable time frame.

It does take it's time though, but is faster in the end than just deconstructing glyphs on the same character that created them. And it will net you access to a second enchanter hireling.
"You've probably figured that out by now. Let's hope so. Or we're in real trouble... and out come the intestines. And I skip rope with them!"

I found a really good Enchanting partner .. I created my own.
    I now have a level 41 and a level 33.
They have gotten really good a playing pass the glyph.

+1 with BrassRazoo above. Create a 2nd enchanter (or use a current alt who got some spare skillpoints to work with). Extracting high level glyphs (from your primary enchanter to your secondary enchanter) will have the secondary enchanter at a high rank in no time. Then he can make glyphs for your primary enchanter. Relying on other players is... well... not reliable. Do it yourself.

I hit a wall in enchanting until I used a 2nd character to also enchant. Now they are rank 45 and rank 40, respectively and both also have hireling 3/3 in enchanting so that's a nice daily boost in runes as well.

I play with my alts sending glymps to my main, and still it takes agonizing long to level up the whole thing. and as you find more and more glymps of the level you are without an alt or alternate source it's olmost impossible to keep going on... would be nice if they actualy fixed it. I hope the patch won't break it...

    "it should be difficult"

Actually, I wish that all the crafts would be that difficult .. now, everyone is a crafter because it's so easy, and being a master crafter is totally useless .. the only thing that sells are raw mats. (and maybe, to a far, far lesser extend, traits)

Being a master crafter should be a sacrifice .. like having a high rank in pvp should be a sacrifice.

I say make it more difficult, and all the crafts along with it !

I used an alt to trade glyphs to about level 25 or so. Then i just leveled it on main by deconstructing glyphs i found as drops during leveling. Right now it is at 37 i think, and 40 is all i need to be able to make everything.

You can buy items instead of trying to be a do-all.

If you have alts you can get them to make the glyphs, you get more from deconstructing an alts glyphs than your own. But I don't know if it's the same as other players glyphs, it appears to be a tad more than dropped glyphs though.

PS. most of us hate enchanting, I know I do, it's among the slowest to raise up, because you have to get three types of rune, and you have to raise each type of rune up to craft the next level. It's a right pain.

I have noticed that certain dungeons drop a bunch of Glyphs. I have taken to repeating those areas to fill up my bag space for my Enchanting Alt. Too bad we hardly ever get Aspect Runes, I have quite a few of other runes (not stacks, just enough to gain some levels if you have some aspect pieces) that I can't use. In fact, send me a message and I will send you my Stamina and other Runes that I won't use maybe in trade from some low end aspect runes. I too need to do some grinding on Enchanting. I was going to hold off until they fixed the leveling rate, but I can help a brother out in the meantime.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I have created an EP toon just to harvest glyphs. it's a grind, way beyond other skills and I can't see why.

Better to make the last 20% of every class skill tough to get than to make just one bizarrely onerous
