Transferring from PC/MAC to console

Looked around for somewhere to ask this question and finally settled on here because it doesn't look like there's any information coming out about this, or indeed anywhere clear to actually ASK for the info...

There are already a TON of questions surrounding the transfer of characters from PC/MAC (pretty much all of which are valid and NEED to be answered), but mine is slightly different;

As somebody to purchased the PC version AFTER the June cut-off date, will there be any way for me to transfer my characters to either of the console versions?

I understand that I'll have missed out on the digital download offer (fair enough, I missed the boat on that one), but it seems insane to have a facility that CAN be made available to one set of customers, but that you simply choose NOT to make available to another.

What's the difference? Well, to me certainly, it's the difference between another six months of PC subs, or not (because there's not a lot of point in my investing subscription fees up until the console release, if I'm going to have to start again anyway).

And given the sheer volume of competition in the MMO space on PC and MAC, and virtually ZERO competition on console, I'd have though ZOS would want to retain and maintain all the subs they can...

Thoughts (and hopefully an official response)?

    I've never understood ZOS' stance on this. Sure, they wanted to try to gather some of the players they were losing due to the huge delay .. 6 months is huge in this context .. in the console release, but they way they went about it was crass.

    First, they put time limit on it, second they then proceeded to want to gouge extra for the transfer itself. Instead of accepting they were the ones who screwed up and doing everything they could to avoid annoying customers they saw it as just another revenue stream.

    They've said nothing about the console release for ages, and explicitly ducked questions about it in the recent Reddit Q&A so it's impossible to know how they view it right now.

    Good luck getting a 'green' reply, but don't hold your breath.

    Lack of communication on this is not a good sign. People have a lot of unanswered questions, but ZOS hasn't said anything since the delay announcement. There is a thread with that announcement, and I believe that's supposed to be the official console transfer thread, but if you read through you'll see it's all just vague information. A lot of replies, but no answers indicate that even ZOS doesn't know what they're doing yet. It seems they just wanted to sell more copies on PC, and didn't really think things through.

    I know, but 'nothing ventured', eh? I'm enjoying the game (bugged quests and PvE solo penalties aside), but I really prefer the console gaming experience (I'm even using a pad to play and have so far only found three activities I have to use the keyboard for).

    I essentially only bought the game on PC because I got a really good deal on a download code (essentially the Imperial Edition for less than the regular), and wasn't even aware of the console transfer offer until after I'd bought it on July 1st!!!

    No problem at all with buying the console version (still looking forward to my Molag Bal statuette to compliment my two Alduins, :smile: ), but no point at all in spending out on the subs on a version I'll not be playing once my preferred option arrives, whereas I'll roll straight through if my characters would transfer over.

    Not really an unreasonable stance, is it?
