Just found out about this and I am beyond ticked. I was rocking vampire's kiss, night's silence, and seducer and I loved it. Why on earth are they nerfing this!?

It wasn't here. I saw it on my guild chat in game. they said that 3 set bonuses are going away and you have to use 5 to get the real bonus for the set.

I didn't see anything about that. The upcoming patch 1.3.0 has a whole bunch of line-items that talk about 3 piece sets.

•All item sets offer their most powerful bonus after the entire set has been collected, requiring either 3 or 5 pieces.

Doesn't this mean that sets such as warlock now require 5 pieces to get the best effect?

I have noticed that some recent armor pieces that I have found only have 5 set bonuses. I don't know that this means that all 3 set bonuses will go bye bye though.

I wasn't impressed by the changes myself. Most of it looks like a nerf for me but there are more choices that could actually be useful. The current bonuses I enjoy will be nerfed so I'll need to find totally new sets. Maybe that's a good thing - mix it up a little.

As far as I seen they are adding wep crit to gear and giving all gear 2, 3, 4, and 5 set bonus. Like trials gear... but better.

There will be 2, 3, 4 and 5 piece bonuses.

Personally, I love that it'll be possible to mix and match different sets to create a stat mix to order.
Brunhilda Icehammer - Nord Dragonknight, 'Smith & Enchantress 'What is 'ranged? I need to hit something!!'
Laehl Direthorn - Bosmer Nightblade, Purveyor of fine Clothes, Bows and Staves
Reeza gra-Zuni - Orc Templar 'War Shaman' and Apothecary
Noemi Snowpaw - Kajiit Dragon Knight - I laugh... or I'd have to kill you.
Kitera Dreamon - Breton of The Dominion: Because those Daggers don't appreciate a great Mage.
Lysara Shadowcroft - Dunmer Bloodmage: This will only hurt a lot.

They are changing the sets quite a bit, but in the end you'll be able to put together a better set of armor. I currently have a 3-3-3 Hunding's Rage, Vampire Kiss and Song of Lamae. The VK and Lamae were for survivability soloing VR stuff. Since that's no longer an issue, I'm going for as much damage as possible. I'm planning on 5 Hunding's Rage and 4 Night Mother. That will give me 16% more weapon crit and 24 weapon power. More stamina love! :) Luckily, I haven't upgraded my current set to legendary yet. For those that have and spent a ton on mats, that does suck. But that's MMOs for ya: Constantly moving target!

My question is will I still be able to do this or are these sets now at 5 before you get the major bonus?

might just be for crafted/PvP gear, haven't seen anything for drop sets.

Not really a nerf. They're just making the set ability require 5 pieces instead of three while adding a bonus for 2 pieces and 4 pieces. Made no sense for the really good ability to only require 3 items instead of 5.

    This.

Sorry that you won't be able to get the best effect from a set after only equipping a handful of pieces.

Not true. It helps to actually read the patch notes. You can still string 3 sets of 3 together and get a bonus from them and it clearly also states that there will still be sets with a max of 3 items for the full bonus.

    - All item sets offer their most powerful bonus after the entire set has been collected, requiring either 3 or 5 pieces.

    - All item sets of 3 pieces give a minor bonus after collecting 2 out of 3 pieces.

    - All item sets of 5 pieces give a minor bonus after collecting 2, 3, and 4 pieces out of the total 5.

I I think it sucks. The set combol I was using is going to be completely worthless. On the bright side if you do you're on the right you should be off the booze your health by well over a thousand anyway.

It's this and you really should try and LISTEN to what players are saying. You keep repeating the same wrong information over and over even after players said it was wrong. Also, go read the thread regarding 1.3 set bonuses that's linked above, it shows all shiny pictures of every set of crafted (not sure if they've gotten the 8-traits up yet) and most of the dropped stuff.

No need to be rude. I DID read the notes (I quoted from them). So maybe you should read the thread before calling someone out huh?

What I want to know, and what still hasn't been answered, is are sets such as warlock now going to require 5 pieces to give its best effect. Currently you get magicka flood with 3 pieces of the set. Will magicka flood, and others like it (for example, night's silence takes 3 pieces to get the sneak speed bonus) now take all 5 pieces before you can get these bonuses, which again are currently obtainable with 3 pieces.

Apologies for the repetitiveness of this post, but people don't seem to be getting my question.

All you're doing is repeating the fact that before this change the set was OP, giving a massive boost on a partial set allowing two partials to be used for a massively OP set of bonuses.

    This isn't a nerf it's fixing a BAD DESIGN!

I don't know why. It simply does not work. It should boost you for 220% per it's description, but it does nothing. Though 220% boost is riddiculous anyway. 20% would be ok. 220% is overkill.

Interesting because I read the same link as you say you read and on Page 4 on the thread there is clearly a picture of the Warlock set which shows they moved Magicka Flood to the 5 set bonus. And everyone else here has fully answered that you can in fact still use multiple 3-sets as you see fit after 1.3, there's only a couple that had their seriously OP 3-set bonus moved to a 5-set bonus. In case you still cannot find it in that thread you read, here's the picture for you ;)

    Which guild?

Sage did talk about upcoming 2-piece set bonuses in the interview last Thursday. Maybe it is only on dropped loot to differentiate tier gear from crafted gear.

If they're going to do this, can they at least give us two more jewelry slots?

Last time i checked, I had ten fingers, not two. I also don't have any issue flaunting gaudy bling around my neck.

I wish they'd add long, tedious questlines to acquire crafting access for drop-only set items. That way I won't be forced into inferior quality light armor with a superior set bonus instead of my shiny paladin armor...
