How do you go about selling items for in-game gold. I'm not sure how to even get started. Any info or procedures would be much appreciated.

First you advertise your items......... /zone will make your message able to be seen by those in your area. A message such as ''WTS 'item' 'how much' /w me'' should suffice.

Then you can go one of two ways......... a face to face meeting with your buyer, pressing 'F' will bring up a menu, one of the options is 'trade'. That will bring up a trade window detailing your goods and his offer........

Or send your item by mail to your buyer COD, done by sending a mail with your item attached and highlighting the COD option putting in the amount of gold you require in the box. The buyer can only open the mail by agreeing to the COD charge, which is then mailed back to you :)

You can link your item in chat. Right click the item and click link in chat. Then use WTS(Willing To Sell) after it.

Make sure you also have a rough idea as to the common/reasonable price. If you are in a trade guild you can review the guild sale price on similar items. Or if you happen to see the same/similar item being sold in chat that hopefully is a good gauge too. Checking the price is both for you and the buyer, last thing you want to do is short sale your self with something like say the Imperial Motif...there is a reason it is gold colored, as of current patches.

Couple things to add to an already useful thread.

You're limited on how many items you can link to chat, so just be warned if you want to sell a bunch of items. People tend to respond better when the items are themed. If you want to sell ore, leather, runes, and BoE sets, try to break them up so they aren't all clumped together.

Guilds can be a good area to check for comparable prices, but keep in mind, a lot of people price things cheaper in their guild. BoE sets tend to get a better value over zone chats as an impulse buy. They can sit stagnant in a guild for 30 days with half the value you could sell them over the chat.

And just to give you some helpful numbers to start with,
    • Green BoE tend to go for 200g to 500g.
    • Common Racial Motifs go for about 300g to 700g.
    • Ta, Jejota, Denata, Rekuta, Kuta Aspect Runes go for about 50g, 150g, 300g, 750g, and 2000g.
    • Unrefined ore goes for about 10g +1g per level tier.
    • Refined ore go for about double what a vendor will pay.

I rarely get 200-500g for green BoE stuff. Maybe if it's got infused or divine trait someone might pay that or if they need whatever trait it has for crafting, but otherwise they go for less.

Unrefined ore usually sells for 1200-1500 per stack.

Refined ore, I have a hard time getting 600/stack for. The mid level ones actually sell for the most it seems. Vendor pays 400g.

Common Racial motifs go for about 400-500g now.

Rare purple racial motifs 10-15K depending on the motif.

    Blue tempers 350-400.
    Purple tempers 750-900.
    Gold tempers 1750-2500g

Enchanting glyphs you find on mobs you can sell for 150-250g EA, depending on how high level they are. Check vendor value and sell around that level or slightly below. People will pay more than vendor because they give a lot more experience for enchanting than vendor bought ones.

Green stuff I usually see for 200 or so, or not at all. If I see it for more than that, I usually see the same ad for quite awhile, which means the guy/gal ain't selling it for what they are asking (or they have a bunch of duplicates). There are some 'sets' that people search for that might offer a higher price.

Unrefined ore can be sold for as high as 1700g pretty regularly. I haven't sold any for less than that in quite awhile. There are plenty of people who advertise 'buying unrefined mats for 1k a stack' and such - those are rip-offs. I wouldn't go under 1500g a stack unless the market heads that way permanently.

Refined ore goes for a lot less. 600g is about average from what I've seen.

Blue racial motiffs go for 400-600. I've seen some go a little higher in the last few days, and I've seen some go lower. I sell the ones I get for 500g pretty easily.

Purple racials - 10-15k? Maybe for Primal/Barbaric. I've still yet to see Ancient Elf or Daedric go for less than 20k, but I'd believe it. Imperial hovers around 50k from what I've seen.

Like with most things - patience is key. Whether you are a buyer or seller, if you have patience, you'll have a better chance of getting what you want for the items you sell, or paying what you're willing to pay for items you want to buy.
