Where is the best crafting area in the game?

I'm EP side and Shadowfen is our crafting area of choice since all of the tables are close to each other and close to the bank. Even the cooking station is nearby if you don't mind loading into the nearby inn.

But it's really starting to grate on me because it's so noisy.

"Did you hear? The hatching almost didn't happen!"

"SHHHHHH! IT'S THE WALKER OF SHADOW AND IN LIGHT!"

"Did you hear? The hatching almost didn't happen!"

When going to the bank it's

"I just got word! I'm an uncle!"

and half a dozen other nonsense things from the guards.

These days, I'm very much missing the AD beginner's side area. (Stross Mkai?) because there's no loading for the cooking fire and is presumably not as noisy.

Are there any other "good spots" that I haven not found yet? Where all the benches are close, the bank is close and perhaps not as noisy?

I still go back to some of those areas, I just wish Bleakrock wasn't phased-out, but I spend most of my crafting time in Stros M'kai and Betnikh even if they're not entirely convenient as Rivenspire I despise most of the posers in Rivenspire spamming their moronic AoEs and faux-sparring, not to mention 'tarded Sorcs with their stupid pets cluttering up the small bank.

Go to the set crafting stations. Even if you don't want to make a set at least you don't have to hear any useless chatter.

Raw'kla in uuhhhh damn I forget the zone but it is AD. Best town to craft. Everything is very close to wayshrine.

The thing that annoyed me about Shadowfen the most is the distance of the wayshrine portal to all the crafting stations / bank.

For quite some time now I've been using Rawl'kha (Reaper's March, last AD zone) as my central crafting place. Bank is close to wayshrine, the whole city is rather small so everything is nearby. Don't know about the cooking station there though.
It's noisy everywhere because of all the NPCs, no matter which city you chose.

Another fantastic alternative would be Cyrodiil, hands down. (for EP Southern Morrowind Gate) I think that might be even the most quiet one.

Elden Root in AD has the same problem. There are two NPC's I think by the wood working station that have an ongoing conversation about building a house out of mud crabs. It will drive you crazy! I used to turn my sound off when I was there.

Oh, yeah! I forgot about Cyrodiil. That crafting setup is pretty awesome. Certainly better than Shadowfen. I'll go park my crafter there and hope I can get a bit more peace and quiet. :)

... aren't those all ridiculously far from a bank? When crafting, you always get other materials to clutter your inventory like stones and other "bonus" mats so you really need a bank nearby.

depends on how much space you have left. I usually sell my junk then deconstruct then put everything in the bank I'm going to use later. I also don't hoard so I only keep a max of 100 racial stones, 100 of any material. The only ones I keep more than 100 of are the tempering stones.

Riften has almost everything just south of the bank which is only a short walk from the wayshrine.

Wait, you're EP and don't craft in Ritten?!=O You're missing a lot, I think it's simply the most populated city of the whole alliance, plus it's also really pretty=P Most veterans seem to hang out there.
Of course, there was that "IT'S HERE!" issue but I think they finally fixed it a few patches ago.

My equipment crafter uses Velyn Harbor, close wayshine, bank, crafts all under one roof. My other crafter uses Evermore, bank, enchanter, alchemy, all in a row.

For DC zones, Shornhelm has the most convenient layout. The WW station and bank are both within 15 feet of the main crafting building. I can't think of any annoying chatter, but I don't spend much time there even though it's more convenient.

I'd be very interested to know if any area beats Raw'kla in Reaper's March for proximity of wayshrine, bank, clothier, horse stable, wood working, blacksmith, enchanting, and a cook fire. No idea if the alchemy station is close by but seriously Raw'kla has everything super close.

Alchemy station is right there with the merchants. It is a great crafting town. Now if we could just get the lady who sentences the guy to the stocks to shut up for a few minutes it would be perfect.

Use the addon "Audio Control." With it you can define hot keys to toggle music, NPC dialog, effects, steps, etc. It's not up to 1.2 but it works fine. I often turn off both music and NPC chatter. It's amazing how detailed the sound design is.

It's in Reaper's March. I do most of my AD-side crafting there because it is so compact. The downside being it's crowded.
