Responsive but maybe ease up with the tear downs

So we have a massive overhaul of the VR content and significant changes coming to the armour set bonuses and potentially the provisioning and enchanting crafts.

I like that ZOS are listening and trying to respond to players concerns. I'm not sure I like the approach of the sledgehammer tear down of anything that people complain about. What happened to minor and incremental changes for balancing?

Just want to reiterate I like the ideas being proposed with all of the changes it is more the manner of implementation that is my concern in this post. Any opinions on how they seem to be planning on handling upcoming changes and particularly the effects of those changes on players?

I've said as much about the difficulty nerf. ZoS talk about incremental changes to avoid overdoing/unbalancing things like class balance. Where were the incremental changes in difficulty?

I guess where I'm coming from is that the change to the VR system is a complete overhaul throw out everything we have previously done and the changes to the armour sets and the proposed changes to provisioning seem to be the same thing.

We had a system that the players had gotten used to, albeit with complaints, and have built their characters around and then ZOS propose to throw out the system and come up with a new system. Now I like the new systems they are proposing but the proposals seem to be light on information on how players that have made builds based on what the system was are going to be helped to transition over to what the new proposed system will be.

We have already seen skill changes that did not include free respecs, which they have acknowledged and plan on changing which is great. I just think that ZOS need to consider this issue a little more thoroughly with the next lot of changes and not throw another curve ball expecting players to just deal with it when they fundamentally change a system in the game.

    My two cents.

Many of players, myself included, canceled sub due to VR levels.

ZOS had to overhaul the system or deal with conveniences.

As a result we have Champion system, that we have no real knowledge of what it really means. This change, like any change in life, scares people and fills them with insecurity. Its normal to feel this way. But we should wait and see how system work in practice.

In the mean time, many of us that left resubed again.
Looking at outside forums, many players are very happy with the change, or at least with promise of change.

Bottom line, change to Champion shows promise and I for one am happy it is coming.

Game is changing for the better. While that causes anxiety, it is for the better.

Until I know more I'm not going to express an opinion either way. I just hope whatever replaces vet is more inclusive for a wide player base. I'm a pretty jack-of-all-trades type of player. I get bored doing any one thing too much and like to do something else for a while. The more options for me the better.

I sort of agree with the OP but VR was a total cluster[snip] that made no one happy. It really did need putting out of our misery.

I enjoyed the challenge of original Vet, although it was a bit repetitive after a while when you got accustomed to the difficulty. I hope they include something of that challenge back into the game again with this change. I've never advocated changes that deprived one population of the community of whatever it is that they enjoy doing. Add more variation to the game don't take it away.

You won't have seen the last of it. ZOS painted a pretty imposing picture before launch, stoic and sticking to their guns. They've softened. And right now it may appear that its for the better, but lets face it, more than likely this is not the last revamp. This kind of thing perpetuates itself, they will constantly be chasing after some made up audience with changes and overhauls. You get one chance to do this thing right, after that you're already behind. If ZOS doesn't absolutely nail it with these changes, and I mean a 500 foot+ moon shot off of Sammy Sosa's bat on to Waveland Avenue, then they're done, toast, see ya later.

    My two cents.

Because...continuing Beta with different team captains making 'I am an island/independent' decisions and not having core leadership to command reasonably same approach from all departments to said changes.

Yes. All vet MMO players here knew from pre-launch that there would be continuing changes, and alterations/additions to the game in these first few months. Many are welcome. Also a good many MMO veteran players appreciate/respect it when devs make changes with a cautious approach.

What the hell happened with dilution of the Vet+ 1-10 zones is beyond curious. More curious to me is how/if at all the consequences of that nerf were seriously given a look at for endgame...especially since they had foreknowledge of all/the overall changes upcoming to the whole Vet system.

Glad its summertime and the livin' is easy. Only time will tell, and some of us have a myriad of other things to entertain ourselves with. I took my patience meds regularly this week and am feeling much more tolerant...that of course is greatly assisted by the fact that I have i-r-l eyecandy to enjoy and lots of watersports and adult beverages to imbibe. I'll tune in to TESO again more fully in the fall maybe.

At least one free respec is going to be offered, so thats something.

Best of luck to V12's through these ongoing changes. Here's to hoping those other V12's who worked their way through are shown respect and come out with balanced rewards as opposed to those who copped a ride along through a few weekends, enjoying shortcuts. Course then, aside from guildie talk and in real life friends, there really is no way to prove who did and who didn't once you are V12...is there? One thing is certain, with the Vet content nerf, there is going to be a lot less elbow room in V10 - V12 real soon, and the 'tone' of grouping for whatever is TESO PvE endgame is sure to uh, change greatly as well.

As long as those large changes are accompanied by free respecs, I am glad they have the willingness to admit they got something like VR totally wrong and will need to overhaul. The incremental approach is needed for balancing classes but not addressing glaring problems.

My 2 centz is I am really happy with the changes and plans, If only they would also throw out the class system and fix the Daedric armor I would have no complaints whatsoever.
