A tip on frame rates in the game

I was having some problems with frame rates and decided to set everything to absolute minimums. Frame rates improved, but not as much as I'd have expected. View distance was set as low as possible. I had a quest that required me to see something from a bit of a distance so I ran the view up to about 12. Frame rates at once doubled. So there's a tip for you, don't run the view distance down to nothing.

To see frame rates, type /fps in the chat box.

For me the diff from 0 to 100 in view distance is about 4-6 fps.

I'd sacrifice almost any graphic setting before setting view distance to minimum distance. In mmos, you need to be able to see the mobs or your opponents asap.

Nnnot really. Try playing with the 0-100 and you will only see a building and 2 trees apearing at 100. Its not like if you put it on 0 enemies will suddenly appear in front of you lol. I keep it at 25 cuz my pc aint the max and because i dont need to snipe enemies like in BF4.

The view sdistance only includes terrain and buildings. Not NPCs
I thought it did include NPCs until I had issues with fps and played around. It doesn't but around 25 your fps will go up a lot.

    Anything above 40 seems pointless.

If you are material hunting you can turn off grass and mats show up super easy. It doesn't change the fps...but figured it's a graphic settings tip as well. Also mats show up as one of the first rendered items on map so with a lower distance view they still show up.

I thought I was being smart setting view range to see npcs and other players asap. But if you're saying there is no difference at 0 distance setting and 75 or 100 then that is disappointing. If you are correct, that makes the distance setting next to useless from that point of view.
