Sadly ZOS decided to penalise the employed and others who can't play 24/7 with this feature.

And to add upon this post.
Mails dont go out during downtime/maintance either, so if the server happend to be offline, your time will be moved until you again can log in.
You although most likely will have to log off and on again to get the mails, if you happen to be online when they should arrive, the mailsystem can be hard to tango with.

Maintenance has no effect on hireling systems, since these mails never arrive when you are logged off, regardless of server status. I have, however, tested that the timer keeps ticking during downtime.
24 hours is the minimum. Any login after that should produce the mail. When do the hireling mails go out, 24 hours from the time you get the perk or at the "start" of the day? Just curious, because I grabbed the perk at a real late hour, when I don't normally play.
Alas, I do not have the skill line that lets me alter time...(I know, that's two.)Ah, so I can alter the time by when I login. That's good to know, thank you.
@fromtesonlineb16_ESO, that's because if you don't get the first one first, the second one isn't the second one, it's the first one...fromtesonlineb16_ESO wrote: »And just to warn you so you don't need to come back to ask as many others have, when you get to rank 3 and the game says you get two a day, you need to log in to get one before the next one arrives, if you don't pick up the first you won't get a second that day.

I think he was referring to your timer running out while the server is getting maintenance, you are unable to log in to get the mail, thus pushing back the start of the next timer.
