Optimization of PvP

Just wanted to know players opinions on this...
Do you think PvP will ever be optimized to such a state that, even in when hundreds of players are on screen there is very little fps drop?

Reason I ask is..Not everyone, but most experience a drop of between 30-50 fps drop in massive groups. For instance in my case, I'll have around 80 fps in the wilderness and in small scale PvP, but when hundreds are on screen, I go to around 15-20fps. That's obviously quite a big drop, but it got me thinking how on earth would they lock it to a steady fps for console's? I know next gen are powerful, by they obviously can't upgrade like us PC users.

Is it a case of the game needs more optimization, or is it not possible to resolve with the amount of players on screen?

It might eventually get better, but I don't ever see it being as smooth as PVE areas where there might be 4-5 players running around the same area.

It's simply a limitation we've experienced in every game where there is an area where so many people gather. No company that I am aware of has been able to perfect it yet.

So... I am hopeful, but don't hold your breath.

Oh yeah I understand there has to be drops in fps with so many on the screen, it's just I hope to see the amount of drop reduced, if possible.

From what I've read the performance issues and improvements are ongoing. No it won't be perfect for everyone but hopefully the mass majority will have a solid experience in Cyrodiil.

imo, as long as the FPS drop doesnt go below 30 fps (give or take 5 fps). 30 fps is very playable and relatively smooth.

It was lovely for me before that patch, sadly it's just not the same for me and probably be the main reason I'll leave the game. I want to see if the new EU server will help before I make up my mind though.
    Patch 1.2.3 nerfed the game....
    Zergballing wrecked pvp......

    Now waiting for Camelot Unchained!!

Yes, rollback to beta or before 1.2.3, was the only times when pvp actually worked.
