Is it soon time for ESO to release a Cash Shop for Vanity Pets, Armor Dyes, Inventory Expansions/Bank Expansions and other things of that likeness?

Don't forget name changes, race change, faction change. One thing I hope they don't add is a appearance change. That should be done with in game currency. But I wouldn't mind having the other stuff.

Cash shops are really not necessary when you're paying a subscription, IMO.
    PS4 / NA
    M'asad - Khajiit Nightblade - Healer
Pakhet - Khajiit Dragonknight - Tank
Raksha - Khajiit Sorcerer - Stamina DPS
Bastet - Khajiit Templar - Healer

We all know its coming, it was announced way back before beta. It was stated the store would not sell equipment/crafting mats or things like that. That would be P2W. I don't want that.

However many subscription based games perform "services" to your account for a fee, and that is what I mean.

I would buy a name change, some more inventory a respec token and maybe 2 more character slots.

Are there any subscription MMOs out there that don't have some sort of cash store even if it's just to sell things like name changes?

Um I don't think they'll be adding a race change or a faction change.. But I can see a name change and an appearance change happening.

    Faction Change:

How does that work? You already have skill points and stuff from your own faction, and completed quests... Now you just want to take that and jump ship. What "point" should you start at?

I am not asking because I disagree, I am asking because I have some remorse about faction choice. My faction just feels like a toxic crowd.

    Race Change:

I am open to this idea because of Skill Line changes. If you chose to be a Dunmer Dragon Knight on the pretense of being a "Fire Healer" (like the one that was on the launcher a bit back) then learned they are changing Fire Booster passives to no longer synch with Destro Staff and changing armor sets to deny these sets being good, you will want to get your time back.

The best way to get your time back is to allow Race/Class Change to let the player find a new "build" they want rather than sticking them.

I would have never been a Breton - or a Sorcerer had I known we would be getting the stick. I would happily pay money to change my decision because time = money and I would rather just pay than work up a new character.

It already exists. Currently selling a horse and the Imperial edition upgrade, as well as the full game itself. Stay tuned for more!

I would much rather quest for such things... This is not a free to play game (and I hope it never is) - I hope they avoid cash store for as long as possible while still providing some of those fun items in some way.

Again, they already sell a horse so it's too late. The shop already exists.

Better they sell the items than release them to exclusive players and no one else, like that damn beta monkey. I'll always hate that they did that. They play for free and get a monkey, while we pay for the game and get an ugly armless runt dino or a crab.

    I want that cat already!

What...no. A subscription game should provide the means to generate enough income and have enough ways through normal gameplay to be able to find or buy all the fun, fluff, and social things in a game.

If that means I can get the beta monkey, then I agree, but this game is obviously going in a different direction.

No. Different direction from every player being able to unlock every item available just by playing. The beta monkey, scuttler, treasure maps, rings of mara, Imperial race, and two kinds of horses show that some items will be exclusive and that's what they've decided.

I think pretty much every mmo has content exclusive to people playing at a certain time.

I was being facetious. That aside, just because they have things players were able to get at launch for a limited time does not mean we are going straight to the cash shop for our next fluffy toy.

Don't even see how you think that might follow. Pre-purchase was a time for impulse buying, we are now paying them steady income.

So again, I'd like to see the subs covering any fun and social items and be able to get them through questing and whatnot.

I don't mind exclusive content as much as the content having nothing equal for other players. The other pets are nothing like a monkey. That's lame, and most of the players who got one don't even like it, which is even worse because I wanted it. If they had just released the other mammals which are real life pets, then I would not have even cared.

I like my monkey but I prefer my scuttler or my Razor's Opus at the moment. Despite it still stealing heals from party members as I noticed :D

In the end it all comes down to tastes, if this dwemmer spider was the preorder bonus, but others would had been upset.

Exactly my point. Exclusives should also be for sale. That monkey is currently the only thing which can not be obtained through purchase, and it irritates me that I can't get anything similar either.

Monkey as in test monkey. Get it?

I still have a seperate email account that I played beta on and wonder if ZOS would still give me the monkey pet if I bought eso for that email address.

I know. I was just wondering if they would still give me the monkey pet for that seperate eso account. Who knows? In the future, eso might allow you to merge accounts, for a real money fee of course, like WoW does.

We weren't just playing, we were working too. At least, that is what beta testers were supposed to be doing. I spent more time posting bugs than leveling my character. And it was all for nothing...complete wipe.

The monkey was a thank-you to those who helped them out during beta.

That is one of my favourite things about the monkey. I like that ZOS expressed appreciation for our help during the testing phase through this sort of exclusivity.
I don't appreciate when a company cheapens the rewards provided to veteran players by later turning around and putting a price tag on them.

As long as it's vanity and not something that will give players and advantage in-game I'm all for it.
