Motifs and provisioning food question ...

I seem to see endless worthless equipment now in containers and having real issues finding motifs, recipes, and foodstuffs. Anyone know why the change was made to containers? Is anyone else having the same problems?

For some strange reason the developers thought we needed a ton of crap added to the containers. No one is exactly sure why.

Fans of the series wanted to have loot tables that felt closer to the single-player games. Motif and recipe drop rates have not been affected and are just fine.

If 30% of the containers I open are now an equipment item how do you mathematically figure the drop rates for anything in a container is not effected that inconsistent

Each container still has the same chance to drop a motif/recipe.

The percentage chance for the Motifs and Recipes hasn't changed. The only lootable item I've seen affected are lockpicks. Nowhere near as many lockpicks anymore (which is a good thing). When the weapon/armor items were added to containers, I'm pretty sure they borrowed some of the lockpick's percentage chance.

ok then I've been unlucky for the weeks since the change because I've got 3 motifs in the same time I would normally get 10 or more

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I haven't found a single motif book since the patch that added junk to containers. I definitely found more motifs before the patch, but I don't know why. Probably a combination of me playing a lot less than before, not really taking care to loot all relevant containers any longer, and just having a stroke of bad luck.

My luck has always come in streaks. Pre and Post patch to containers it's still the same for me. I can go a couple days to a week without a single Motif or Recipe, then suddenly get a rash of them. That being said... Post patch I now usually have an oversupply of Primal and Barbaric motifs. I can't manage to sell them before finding another.
