Help-All my guildies are in another faction!

Will there ever be an option to do a faction change with a character?

When I first began playing this game I had four main people I was playing with and we chose to join the Daggerfall Covenant. As time went on...two of the four people quit. A month after launch I joined an awesome guild. However, there is one problem....they are all (well most of them) in the Aldmeri Dominion. I was too invested in my main to start a new one so I continued leveling. I have in the mean time started a toon on Aldmeri Dominion, but I don't know if I really want to level all the way through Veteran content again even with the recent improvements.

I'm VR10 and am at the point where I will start wanting to attempt trials in a few weeks once I turn VR12. I won't be able to do them with my guild and I will be left searching for groups.

A few ideas:

1. Put in a faction change quest: As a Veteran Rank player, we already completed the other two factions which makes us kind of traitors anyway (lets face it)....let us choose. It would also be a great reward for making it all the way through the VR levels.

2. Let the Imperial class players play with whichever faction they choose since any race can be imperial in any faction. Maybe put a limit on how often you can switch or something like that.

3. Let Veteran Rank 12 guild members of any faction play together in trials and Craglorn.

Now I have no idea the logistics it would take to do any of this. But, having the option to change factions would help me get more excited about turning VR12. Hope maybe you will look into this for the near future

Thanks!!

    1. No
    2. No
    3. Maybe

You DO know you can join 5 guilds, right? I don't think anyone should be able to change factions. From a lore perspective, it would make you a traitor. More so than vet content.

From a gameplay perspective, this option would cause one faction to be full of players while making the other two empty.

Don't even get me started on the problems it would cause in PvP...

I agree with everything you said sir. 3 is definitely the only proposal I can mildy tolerate.

Please no one ever, ever suggest more imperial advantages again.

Completely understandable...I in no way want to suggest making the factions unbalanced. I for sure don't want to mess with PVP.

Of course I know this, but so many guilds are empty, it is hard to find one where players are actually online. They shouldn't let us have cross faction guilds unless they are going to give us a way to play together. Heck, I'd be completely fine with a one time faction change option.

This is something I have wondered too. Seems like a pointless feature other than giving the illusion of having large guilds.

Cross faction guilds make good trade guilds. Probably the only good trade guilds in my opinion.

What I hate is when someone asks for help in guild and you drop what your doing to go help then realize that they are in a different faction ;)

It would be good income for ZoS if they charged to allow you to change faction the same way WoW does to change server. Guilds are very fluid things right now. many breaking up and merging due to lots of people leaving the game. It can leave you stranded in a faction none of your friends are in.

Yet another 'fail' due to the unnecessary faction system in the game sadly, just another mechanic that prevents people playing with their friends.

The guild system is at odds with the faction system. This was the first big fundamental design flaw I noticed when I made my first alt during early access.

Should have been a sandbox MMO where we could build and siege guild cities and forge our own alliances. Instead we got Dark Age of Elder Scrolls (DAoC2).
