When would you want VR14 to come?

philip.ploegerb16_ESO
I suspect Zenimax plans to up the level-limit to VR14 with the 3rd content patch, but I doubt, many players would want to need to re-level, to re-equip a.s.o.
Of course, upping the Veteran-Ranks to VR14 would also make it harder for new chars to reach max-Rank, so maybe there are even players that want this?

What do you think :)

Thx to Giny, Sarana, Thaili, Derra, Cherahim, Gloy, Raweelz and Drimacus, you make the game worth playing even with AoE-caps, no usefull progression past Assault / Support Rank 10, and with PvP being not even close to balanced.

Never, period. Don't even argue. Extending VR 10 to 12 was already a mistake, don't make one again. There are thousands of mindless VR 12s out there who don't deserve to win VR 1 in terms of skills, builds, execution and situational awareness, but they'd still win because they have about 35% stronger weapons and armors. Do not let this be worse.

If they plan on releasing new PvE (and I suppose PvP) content I wouldn't mind seeing an increase in veteran rank levels, however given that the newest 'update' seems to be predominately fixes, cosmetic introductions and general nothingness I wouldn't want to see an increased levelling cap until there's content to support said cap. I think only major expansions (box set expansions) should come with an increased cap, otherwise it becomes trivial.

I'm currently sitting on rank 9.6 on my 'main' with several alts sitting on anywhere between level 25 - veteran rank 1, so I'm honestly quite indifferent. Once I have 2-3 rank 12s I might be a bit more pushy for content and whatnot, but eh, we'll see.

Something to keep in mind, they're redoing the vet system as we know it today.

First i want content so that i can get to vr12 being a solo player , AFTER that , then sure , make vet14 and add content so that everyone can get it.

^ This, and likely it won't be until at least the end of Summer if not later. I can't imagine OP where you got the thought that the upcoming patch 1.3 was/is going to have a 2 Rank increase to VR. And Technically we're only in the 1st major content patch, 1.2 (Craglorn). The second content patch will probably be the other half of Craglorn like @infraction2008b16_ESO said. ZoS said they would be trying to bring out new stuff each month but said NOTHING about major content releases with increases in VR to be part of that once a month timeline.

First, they are redesigning how the vet content is from its original state and going through phases. Once they have almost implemented those or completed the phase changes, then they will entertain the idea of increasing vet levels (most likely) with the second half of craglorn.

Never would be good, I've played since day 1, done what I wanted to and am vr5. Playing PvP with the strong advantage to a higher level is bad enough without adding even more inequity to the mix.

There needs to be more low level fillers at this point. Give those v12's a reason to reroll more accounts. Give us more reasons to play 1-50 in the other zones more then just the once on our main.

I reckon that instead of extending VR ranks to infinity and beyond (what comes after VR14 .. VR16? <chortle-chortle>), this would be a perfect place to open the class abilities and the skill lines; so that people can develop their characters similar to the way skill lines and abilities are chosen in Skyrim (ES V).

At the moment class and skill lines are on rails; meaning that our choices are constrained by the class and to a lesser degree by the race. Mind you, I'm fine with racial trait's but don't think they should extend to class. If ESO were serious about play as you want ... they'd do away with the rigidity imposed by predefined skill lines ...

and, wait for it ... free respecs from VR12 onwards to sweeten the deal so that people who might conceivably be a little jaded by the game at this stage are inspired to play around a little more and keep their subs going far into the future.

Now, you can't say this isn't a humdinger of an idea? Yes?

I voted 1 year at the earliest -- I don't want to quite say "never," but we don't need any more VRs anytime soon.

I'm all for adding new content, but let it be for the existing VRs, or even for the 1-50 players. There is not enough content variety currently available to keep all styles of players happy.

It would have been awesome if the game initially allowed you to 'select' 4 skills to major and 4 to minor like Morrowind with each skill major skill being easier to progress compared with minor and finally non specified. Furthermore, major could reach 100, minor 50 and non specified 25, or something. Each skill broken down (destruction -> fire / frost / shock / poison) which in turn could be broken down further (fire -> offensive / defence of thing). Sort of like how rift works.

However they didn't take that path due to the horrible balancing issues and bam we have the current system. I'd love for more skill lines to be introduced (World / Guild / Skill Crafting / Daedric Worship / x / y / z) and current class skill lines to 'evolve' in the sense that there's more morphs (or you can morph a morph sort oft thing). Perhaps once you hit level 50 in a class line you can select one of two sort of prestige lines etc etc. There's so much room for development, we'll see how the game goes!

Changing the vet levelling process doesn't mean they are going to remove/stop adding vet ranks. From what I read they are actually going to remove veteran points and have normal XP rank up vet instead as well as add some new system afterwards which they haven't made entirely clear at this point.

There will still be veteran ranks, they are just going to change the way you level them.

I just hit VR 2 today and am LOVING this game.

That said, I'd rather not see a VR increase for a really long time.

Why? Because I don't have my Hand-to-Hand skill line yet.

    And we need polearms.

And I'd like to see the Justice System done well, along with the Thieves' Guild and the Dark Brotherhood.

    And Spellcraft.

    And Jewel-whatever-it's-called.

And when can I go under the water and actually KILL the damned slaughterfish like the other ES titles?

But yeah. I'm happy so far. Just think resources would be better spend on expanding laterally before another level cap increase.

DAoC never extended the level-cap, it was 50 in the beginning, and it was 50 in the end.

They brought a lot of new content, new zones, new items, new abilities aquired via raids, all of which made a character stronger, but they never made their old equipment obsolete because of a level-cap increase.

RIFT did both, increased the level-cap and forced everybody to buy an expansion, but they also had one very interesting form of long-term-progression where one could get very small bonuses (like 1% fire-restistances i. e.) for large amounts of XP.
That system I also found very interesting, because it automatically made the content easier the longer the game lasted, and because of it, there were always reasons for XP.
