Miscellaneous quests, these were awesome in Skyrim as while they didn't give any rewards themselves they gave you something to focus on especially when you've done all the quests in a particular area.

I feel this game lacks that re-playability especially in vet zones where you still get loot/VP for doing stuff.

It could also make places like the fighters/mages guild halls useful beyond the quest line if they were places to pick up these repeatable mini quests, I understand the fighters guild already has something like this but that's only in Cyrodiil.

I concur. I'd like to have the guilds *from very low level - like guild level 1-2* say "Hey - we'd like you to keep down the population of X. Bring us back their noses for a modest reward. Maybe not as good as a normal big quest reward, but something worth doing now and then for when you want to either group with your friends and kill stuff or are feeling a bit violent...and want to kill stuff."

Go kill me fifty giants, bring back their noses and I'll give you some XP and maybe a random trinket.

And every time you go back, you can get a different quest - not limited to one a day. Of course, it should be about 70% the speed as doing the story, but if you are wanting to just go on a killing spree (or prefer the Korean MMO style) this is another (easily implemented) option.

Maybe those kind of quests will be added with the new updates for veteran ranks?

There are repeatable quests in Cyrodiil, but they're all VR5 and not for people who don't like PvP (or at least not mixed in with PvE objectives) and their availability is somewhat limited by which transits shrines your alliance holds. I'd like to see some PvE radiant style quests. It'd be particularly good if they sometimes involved delves.

No rewards? Time and time again I am reminded I must have been playing a different Skyrim than everybody else.

A lot of the miscellaneous quests in skyrim didn't actually reward you themselves but actually sent you to a place where you'd find a large reward anyway, like for example Arngeir's word of power finding quests. The bounty quests as well the rewards for turning in were something like a measly 100 gold however the actual places usually had a nice chest tucked away somewhere and that was the incentive to actually go and do it not the turn in reward. The quests were usually just a guide, something to focus on by saying "oh look there's a bandit in that cave with a load of loot, go kill him!!".
